TROOPS
[*]10 Dire Avengers

[*]9 Dire Avengers
- inna Serpent w/Stones, TLBrightLance
[*]10 Wraithguard, plus Warlock w/Destructor + Spear + Seer Upgrade
[*]HEAVY SUPPORT - 3x Wraithguard w/Sword (reroll misses) and BrightLance
[*]FAST ATTACK - 10 Warp Spiders - led by Exarch w/TwinSpinners, Powerblades, and Hit&Run Ability
[*]HQ - Yriel or Avatar - same points, same role. (Leaning towards Avatar for inspiring fearlessness, but the "1-time-stomp" and +1 reserve rolls from Yriel are also really nice.)
Suggested Tactics: Right up the middle, with a block of Wraithguard giving cover saves to the Wraithlords and HQ.
Dire Avengers can be dismounted providing cover saves and anti-infantry fire or mounted and waiting for a good target/hunting objectives.
Warp Spiders can be "fast outriders", getting ahead of the army and absorbing a charge/charging a nasty unit before running off. Or, they can DS behind lines to hit a vehicular AV10 Rear or shooty unit.
Dire Avengers or Spiders will be used to consolidate units and either (a) die or (b) run away and leave them clumped together for 6 Flamer templates from the Wraithlords followed by a Gang Charge from the heavies. Wraithguard are also a good tarpit for another unit while the heavies work, and are very hard to budge off objectives.
Why do I think this will work? Wraithguard can Run, keeping them close to the Warp Spiders and moving them up quickly. Dire Avengers die just easy enough, leaving a nice clump for subsequent line units to attack, or the Warp Spiders who don't die as easy can charge and then run away at a good time.
PLEASE - flaws in the build. Builds that are default monkeystomps. Problematic opponents or missions. Stuff I haven't looked at yet. Thanks!

JTS, sorry for the previous posts that
de-rail your topic/post.
Wraithlords - What can I say, I used to think the Sword was a bad idea. But
imo you're going to want anti-assault units for your wraithguard and who is going to preform that role?
Avatar? Sure but that is just one model and in
40K you need to have redundancy. Shees and Scorps will need a ride so they don't get shot down but in doing so they get pretty expensive plus you'll also have to time your disembark correctly which can be a pain (no assaulting out of a Wave).
Overall that leaves the Wraithlords... Yes 2 attacks is not great for melee. But just last night a Land Raider Crusader came charging in on my fire base. I had a single Wraithlord as my main deterrent. It fired it's Brightlance and ended up just getting a shaken result.
WL assaults in, and needs 6's due to the
LRC moving 12". I roll... all 3 attacks miss. Reroll again, got lucky and scored 2 hits.
My point? The sword is better than most people think and while it does not make the Wraithlord a
HtH god, it does improve his one weakness
slightly. It also makes Wraithlords come in at a cheaper point cost (I think it's 140 for
BL &
WS). It's not for every army but I urge you to give it a try and see if you like it.
IMO Warpspiders are not worth taking any more. 12" range, weaker against vehicles now, have to roll for difficult terrain when jumping in/out of cover and overpriced for what they are. With the
HtH changes, I'm not sure the exarch and his
Str 3 power weapons are worth it. Hit and run took two nerfs, one in the form that you have to roll
LD to actually use hit and run and two, it's harder to survive in assault due to how they're resolved.
IMO if you're going to take an Avatar he could use the support of a Fortune Seer or Eldrad. If you're taking an Avatar why not capitalize on his fearlessness?
To do so would mean taking some Guardian Defender Squads (w/Lock + Conceal + Scatterlasers) in place of the warp spiders. Scatterlasers will let you have some range while you are running in. Conceal helps you do your job of being a meat shield to the Wraithguard. Fearless keeps you around.
I'm not sure you'll get cover saves for your Wraithlords Via the wraithguard. Wraithguard are only marginally bigger than normal troops and Wraithlords are F'ing huge! At best you might be able to argue a 5+ cover... maybe. But I'd not worry about it too much as 9 wounds (3 Wraithlord is still a ton to break through).
What you can do, if you own the Forge world Avatar use him to give a Wraithlord cover. You can also use a Wraithlord in front to give cover to 1 or 2 in back cover.
Anyway, I like your list and I like the idea of combing some speed to the foot slogging castle!
