I didnt customize anything on that model, but I agree wholeheartedly.
because of this I have grown my own beard and chops. ~4" of beard so far.

I sold most of my old models, some of my best painted minis were included in that lot! But this is my fave mini so far (still wip, if i ever get round to doin the fiddly highlights!), although he may be outdone by the logan grimnar repaint I'm working on (my first attempt at NMM) without further delay, my Possessed Chaos Marine:
