He single handedly held the Ultimate Gate when everybody else ran away in fear of the Demons.

He also broke a Greater Bloodthirsters back over his knee in the fight.

He is also celebrated on his own special Holiday and is the most celebrated Primarch by the citizens of the Imperium.

He is pretty much a badass.

well i am bringing up the dead, but would you rather live your 100-400 year old life span serving good for nothing in return but a pat on the back. Or live for 10k years taking anything you want, and living when your alive, rather than living to serve.

yea yea yea, sanguinius was awesome and all but horus still killed him without breaking a sweat. THEN killed ( dont argue you know he did) the emperor right after his fight with bird boy. dont get me wrong i love space marines and like nothing more then killing chaos, but lets face it, Horus is the TRUE badass as far as that stuff goes.

Horus was infused with tons and tons of Chaos magic since the Chaos Gods took a gamble and bet everything they had on him. So he wasn't really a true badass. Pretty sure a lot of the other Primarchs could have taken him if he didn't start using Chaos 'roids. This shows Sanguinius was even more of a badass because he was tainted by chaos and given wings but he never became a Traitor to the Imperium.

From what Lexicanum says, Konrad was never confirmed to be dead. Might be a decent plot twist if they decide to ramp up the fluff in later editions.

i think russ might have gone psycho, but not chaos.

Russ is not a heretic lion is recovering gulliman debatable if he is recovering, corax and russ are knocking over mailboxes in the eye of terror and gathering resources in the eye of terror to kill the primarch daemon princes, and you chaos pukes keep assuming that alpha legion is for chaos and are completly ignorant of the Cabal get educated noobs!

All you get for chaos is a huge risk of spawndom for a chance to be some chaos gods pet demon prince for eternity. Nothing you do matters, because in the warp you have already done it. All you can do is indulge in the same petty pleasures that you did to become a demon prince in the first place.

Russ, and all the other loyalists avoided this trap in the hope that the Emperor's golden path would lead to something better.

Khan can't die against DE. GW put DE in stasis for some 40k editions. Easy to survive those frozen space elfs

Here's my off topic objection to chaos:

Self- Interest.

When I want to become an all powerful being, then I want to become an all powerful being! I don't want some spank in my head forcing my body to move while I twiddle my thumbs in the dark corners of my brain knowing that while I am a god like being I am not a god like being.

To show how russ is a bad . He took a power fist to the jaw without power armor from the emperor, and all he got was a chipped tooth. He broke magnus across his knee. He is the only primarch that beat horus in one on one combat. Not to mention he fought lion for 5 days and after he figured his honor was satisfied lion sucker punches him. Man I hate dark angels sneeky gits.

russ is too much of a 'manly man' to be seduced by the subtle influence of chaos... hes probably too busy necking pints of lager & telling daemonettes to 'get ya tits out for the lads!' to worry too much about actually paying homage to the dark powers.
