I guess i'm just biased against special characters i think they are a cheap way to play and not very creative.

How is it any less fluffy than playing 1st company Ultramarines in every game? Or Biel-Tan? Surely these two sub-lists aren't present at every battle in the universe?

If you go down this road, then every battle you play must be Imperial Guard against Orks - as they are the only two forces large enough to justify playing a fluffy battle. There are only 1000 Space Marine chapters, but billions of planets. The odds against any single battle (much less all the ones you play) even involving a Space Marine force are astronomical.

Or you could just take a "storyteller" point of view and say that all of your battles are the continuing story of 1st Company, or Biel-Tan...or Abbadon and his personal elite guard.

They either all work or none of them do.

Personally like to run him with PMs, they soak up good damage and with him still almost always kills everything.

It might be something to stick him in a squad of Thousand Suns, and accompanied by a Sorcerer of Slaanesh, all piled into a Land Raider. The unit moves up and disembarks the Landraider within assault distance of an enemy unit. Then the entire unit opens fire. While Abbadon and the Thousand Suns clear out the enemy, the Sorcerer uses the Lash of Submission to draw the survivors back into assault range. Then they all charge, and the Aspiring Sorcerer in the Thousand Suns unit uses the Gift of Chaos on any lurking Powerfist-type models.

Ummmm, that's freaky! That is the exact setup I was thinking of running. 8 zerks, SC with PF, and Abby. Still figuring out the deployment rules though, and I haven't actually used it in a battle. If I can master that setup, a lot of enemies are gonna stain their undies when that Land Raider comes at them full tilt. Assuming the LR doesn't get blown up and I lose like 500 pts worth of precious cargo. On that note, take Daemonic Possesion and drive that hulk at full speed toward the enemy line. Don't dillydally and shoot with it. It's main purpose should be to deliver Abby (and the zerks once I figure that part out) into face to face mayhem!

Nothing can kill Ninjas, so how can one kill Dark Eldar?

I wonder what Abbadon would do for a klondike bar.

Never allow yourself to life in fear, for if you do, you are not truly alive.

A sound plan indeed. Never thought about using 1kSons with him. Lash of Submission would be a very useful tool. Dang it, now I gotta build a Slaanesh sorcerer!

How would Lash bring the survivors back? All shooting happens simultaneously, so at best you could lash them within an inch of the assault squad, bolter them, then either pray they pass their leadership test or fall back no more than 5 inches.

The sorcerer can hop out the side door and be more than 2" away from the rest of the guys who poured out the other exit points. He is then free to wait until the first unit is done shooting and use his Lash independently.

Hah, I'd didn't put much thought on the specifics of using the Lash, but that is a daggone sneaky tactic. Of course, being a Chaos follower, I love dirty, underhanded tricks.
