With Remiare all but finished (and remaining so until I feel the need to return to her and polish off a few details), I had a look through my bitzbox and started thinking about what to do next =I=munda-wise.

My Kaban robots are sidelined until I receive various bits and pieces so in the meantime I'll concentrate on a few pieces that are more Necromunda-ish. In particular, a guilder and his loyal bodyguard.

Honourable Guild-Merchant First Class, Phareon Torr of the Reputable House of Skoll:

Based on the older Nurgle sorceror model, this chaps going through some extensive changes. The emblem of the House of Skoll hangs around his neck on his guild chain, and his staff of office rests easy in his hand (counts as a power weapon I imagine). He has a bionic eye and implanted voxcaster, and carries his guild ledger on his back (unseen in pic). He will receive some fur on the left shoulder, plus some suitable bling as befits his station.

And the bodyguard:

Not much going on with these guys yet, I just love the models. I havent decided yet which ones will be the bodyguard and which will go into other projects, but I quite like the idea of using the model with the big hair to represent twins or even triplets, with only minor details and weaponry to distinguish between them. I did find a nifty plastic piece on the ravenwing sprue, which when reversed makes quite a cool looking breastplate (seen on the lone big haired guy), and the marauder arms fit nicely with these old sculpts without looking over-large. Having bare arms will also allow me to display some guilder brands on their skin, lest anyone forget who they work for. I'm a huge fan of the old confrontation models and am constantly looking for more to collect and turn into gangers (so if anyone has any, feel free to pm me!).

As for future projects, I have a plan to put together a few Goliath types, 100% converted as I'm not keen on the metal models and reimagine their background. I've also acquired (though not yet received) a mukaali with renegade militia rider, who will become my first ash waste nomad.

Looking good. I like the chest armor a lot, and the old school models truly do rock!

Phareon Torr is bloody fitting!! Great selection of components. Maybe the pointing hand could also be bionic?

Thanks chaps. the chest armour was a total happy accident - I just happened to be checking the sprue for suitable bits and bobs from the wrong side, and there it was!

As for a bionic hand for Phareon, I like that idea. I'll have to see if I can locate a suitable component...

Oh, and with your blessings, I'll be stealing the names Xanthos and Migsula (or possibly Migsu'la) as names for some of my future henchmen!

Heh, feel free, as long as you don´t kill him off in the first fight he´s in.

I really like the composition of the model. I would however like to see some variety in the gold areas. Throw some silver in there to pick out some of the detail work. Right now you're losing all of the details to the monotony of the gold.

Great work so far though ^_^.

Hmm, I see you have some exact the same models for bodyguards, perhaps you could have two or three and let them be twins/triplets, sort of like those white twins from the Matrix Reloaded. Now that would be cool!

Doesn't mean they have to be albinos though...

Thanks grey_death. When I finally come back to finish Remiare off I'll definitely revisit the highlighting and try and define some of the gold areas a little more. As you said, a touch of silver should help lift some of the edges.

Malika2 - yeah, the twin/triplet route is definitely tempting, I think that once I work out what their armament should be, that'll help inform my decision on what to dow ith the body guard overall.

In terms of progress, tonight Phareon received some guitar string tubage leading to his vox-caster, and a wire connection for his bionic eye. Next will be greenstuffing and lookng for a suitable holstered pistol.

I also started mucking around with the last ganger shown above, and can now confidently report that he'll be going to war with a bionic arm-mounted assault cannon thanks to some necron destroyer bits, a Ravenwing assault cannon and my trusty modelling knife! I'd post a pic but assembly is a bit tricky and I dont have enough blue tac to hold the various bits in place long enough to photograph it!

Got some more done on Phareon tonight. He's now almost finished - all that remains is to do a bit more work on the area where the voxcaster meets his face and have a quick trawl through my bits box to see if I can find any more suitable bits and bobs to hang off him.

Happy to say that I think I've just about got the hang of this detail GSing - it always feels scary when you start but with a little patience marvellous things can happen. Doing the cables worried me most but they turned out to be rediculously easy, and barring a minor squishing incident, proved to be pretty stress free.

On a future progress note, I ordered some bits today to put together two moody hammer hive scum (Goliath style) and a squad of five guys that, once done, will be suitable for a number of different identities including Inquisitorial stormtroopers (which will drag this blog that bit closer to the "Inquisi" side of 'munda I reckon!), Naval armsmen and/or some form of "Provost" elite guardsmen/Hive secret police types.

Anyway, enough natter, heres the pics:

All c&c welcome, particularly regarding the greenstuff work.

Good start here, very characterful and grea base models to choose.

Is he diseased or a bit nurgley in some way? Or just gluttonous and fat?

Careful of the mould line down his right hand side!

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with for the moody hammers.

Cheers,

Dante

Definitely just fat and gluttonous, as befits a greedy and wealthy Merchant. And that mould line will go - the photos have thrown up a few little bits and pieces that I need to tidy before he gets painted.

Thanks for the comments chaps.
