I like the third head you originally circled. That overly heavy industrial design works great for chaos and specifically something as monstrous as a huge war engine.

How about the Khorne skull head. When I build mine I am going to use a plastic skull and exaggerate the teeth.

I first want to thank everyone for the input on the head. As such ive started on the torso, so I can try out 2-3 diffrent heads once I figure out what size they need to be.
Ill come back to the head question in a few days.
----------------------
So the here is a VERY early picture of the torso. I can assure you its not to tall.
Its going to be similiar to a large dreadnought style torso. I had considered making it like the datasheet but figured only the track area is the same for each LoB. The torso itself would be unique, to lure in a greater demon thats fond of that particular form.
As such the head will come out of the torso, rather then sitting on top of it. In fact, im working on it right now. Pics showing what I mean sometime today.
|
Also, in an ironic twist on something you threatened to do previously, I'm going to make another promise.
If the package is not signed for, it will be returned to me. If it is returned to me, I will set out everything that is in the box of import and burn it. I will watch it go up in flames.
The video that I shoot of it will be posted to YouTube. I will email you a link, as well as post links to it in open forums.
Remember when you threatened me that, if I sent you anything, you'd burn it and send me a link to the video, Matthew? Well, this way, you'll get what you want (burned models), regardless - MagickalMemories |

On a more serious note: I like hunchbacks; it makes for a very "living machine" look. I can already imagine a Lord of Battle looking down on his puny enemies and blasting/tearing them to bits. It also opens up some interesting options for the head cannon.
I'm assuming shoulders will be added to make the torso a bit wider? A skinny Lord of Battle doesn't seem quite right .

Hehehe Quaisimodo! He has a nickname!
Indeed, it will be wider. The squares on the side of the torso arent a part of the shoulders. Basically a collar bone.

Thanks guys! All the kind words are keeping me motivated like no tomorrow.
-----------------------------
I did a small amount of work on the head. Its still obviously very much WIP and only showing the basic shape. As you guys can see im going with the classic weapon head with a few slight changes. I plan to use the Custodian head on a reaver titan.
Better pictures when its fleshed out more. Sadly, commissions are taking control again and I dont have nearly as much time to work on this as id like. To many clients are getting antsy.

I vote for ONE BIG cannon.. but I also don't know what the profile for the weapon is/will be.. how many shots will it fire? Anything more than 2 should be small cannon cluster..
Also, haven't weighed in here on this.. but it LOOKS ACE! Damn..

A big one with a few smaller ones around it? . On a more serious note, I vote big cannon. Any cannon coming from a gaping maw should be one huge barrel IMO, like it's rising op out of his windpipe.

Update time! Well, the pictures are from about 2 weeks ago, before my honeymoon. Since the the CC arm has been filled in and isnt so skinny, and the torso has had the start of alot of cabling and wires added. Only yhe head and the missing arm remain in the same condition.
As for the back, I plan to add a mix of large vents and a spine growing out of it, similiar to a soul grinder.
Im always open to ideas.

Early on in the log there is a space marine dreadnought next to the lower end for scale. Ill pop a marine in next to the torso for scale next group of pictures.
As for the rules as I keep getting PMs about them..

-------------------------------------
Small update..
Oh, the GS on the back is the very start of a soul grinder style spine popping out. Ive also settled on a dreadnought style power plant exhaust system on the back. 1 on each side of the spine.
As for the head, im going to probably use one of the new extra cannons from the stormlord/shadowsword kit. Anyone have any for sale?

Pretty nice, I'd been wondering how this thing had continued. Congrats on the wedding (assuming that the honeymoon was for you ).
I like the posing of the head, though I'm still not sold on the design. Also, are you sure you want to go 'organic' on this model with spines etc? It doens't seem to fit the theme so far. Still, I'll reserve my judgement for the finished model, as it should be!
Will the shoulder pads be kept? I like'em, and the models looks a bit skinny without them. Could you post a pic of the model with shoulders and arm? Might give a better idea of how they work together.

Honeymoon went great. I did manage to slice my tendon on my pinky right after returning. I had to have surgery on it last week.
Ive dropped the organic design 100% Ill save that stuff for the nurgle and slaanesh things I have planned LATE down the road.
The arms right now are off and will stay off until i finish the torso. THe model itself is way to big to work on it in one go. As for shoulder pads, its going to be just like the armorcast reaver and sorta like the new reaver from FW. The arms themselves will be bulked out with alot of tubing and wiring, like the epic model.
gennadius wrote:i know its kinda late but the choas nurgle, slaneesh and tzeench head are sooooooo cool
Its indeed a bit late but dont worry, i plan to use both the slaanesh head and nurgle head on future superheavy builds.
----------------
Updates are slow coming while my pinky heals. Last thing I want is to re tear my tendon and go back to having a useless finger.
