Ok, this is off topic. Ive just came back to 40k(i quit about a year after 4th ed came out) has it really got this bad? I mean back then SM still had that huge following(SM-wankfests), but from what ive been reading in forums it seems to be a joke. I'm a mainly IG player btw.

The new system's more or less "diet 40k."

Close combat's a joke.

Vehicle damage is a lot simpler, this I could take or leave.

There's this new thing called "running" where everyone decided that slow armies should have equal rights and get to basically what was 4th edition fleet.

And spess muhreens are as broken as ever.

Although the Blood and Dark Angels got lost on their way to the special olympics.

As for the IG, they're fighting an uphill battle until the new dex comes out. Of course thats what guard are good at.

The new kill point garbage really bent em over a barrel.

Chaos Death God? It'll be Ghazghkull Thraka. The Space Marines will kill him after Tau(or Chaos, 'cause they're cool like that) experiment on the Orks as a race. Why would they do that? To give the Imperium something else to fear--a *smart* bloodthirsty Ork warboss.

How about eldar get some decent troops and wraithgaurd become plastic.

No, it is not that bad, and, in fact, by mainly focusing on objectives, GW has brought tactics back into what was otherwise a "OMG. MUST... MAKE.. UP... POOOOOINNTS!!!1!" slug fest, either staying back and shooting, or headlong charging into the theeth of the enemy. The game is now more fun, tactical, and different from fantasy (as awesome as fantasy is)

The Ultra-Marines and 60% "codex" chapters vs actually cool chapters would be awesome. Mechanium can come too.
