Frankly, I don't like Spawns or Bikers, but nevertheless the army looks interesting.

this looks like about a 2300-ish point list. as it is, it is absolutely terrible. it has no anti-tank capability whatsoever, and the lord is a walking meatbag of uselessness. Especially since he has no weapons to speak of. furthermore, no aspiring champions leads this list to suck even more. there is absolutely no list that would fear this list. Except maybe a grot horde. actually, I wouldn't mind seeing that. overall, this is probably the worst list i've ever seen.
What to improve? Everything. Especially the anti-tank capabilities. this is probably the best example of how not to make a competative list.

Well, the idea to take a core of higher toughness models is not bad. But as Capt. Comm. said, the units need standard upgrades.

I know people that would say this is cheesey, but imo not really. I doubt how effective this army is though.
And ya, saying you won a couple of battles with a army might tell a bit, but necessary nothing because the story don't tell us who you played against and what army he/she had.
And lastly, you maybe should consider to edit you army a bit when it obviously cheesey and your friends start complaing about it because the games start getting borring, but you shouldn't always take it to bad. There are alot of whinners out there that accuse people and their "cheesey" army just because they have bad temper after losing a couple of games.

Apocalypse (and games in general) are an incredibly bad way to judge an armies effectiveness, as there's too many variables.
1) You may have other people on your side who don't bring sucktastic armies
2) Your opponents may bring even more sucktastic armies
3) Apocalypse has crazy assets and formations that make certain sucktastic armies downright...am..az..tastic?
If it works, and you like it, keep playing it. But to end the "debate" (in which the "this is cheese" side hasn't actually existed to date) its not cheese. Its not even a good army. According to everyone in the thread (myself included) not only is it not a good army, its a downright awful army.
If your opponents are crying cheese, its more likely over what assets you're using to accompany this in some sort of weird APOC trick (god knows theres enough).

There is no cheese in 40k only whinners who complain. If you like the list play the list and decide for yourself if it is any good and fits your style of play. Don't put to much credence on what others say, they have their own opinions and what works for them might not work for you. If you like it and have fun with it then play it and enjoy!

this looks like about a 2300-ish point list.
To both of you, I'd just like to point out that all you did was post a response and NOT read anything already posted.
wuestenfux, it particularly shames you because of how prolific a poster you are here.
Less then 2/3's down the first page is your answer.
Crap guys there was only a page of responses, READ THEM FIRST NEXT TIME AND STOP WASTING EVERYONES TIME!
CaptainCommunsism, to your statements on there being no anti-tank, no aspiring champs nothing of the kind in there, look at the list it is a summary saying what models are there. There aren't points costs, there aren't wargear options, nothing of the kind. Make the assumption that not everyone is a baby regardless of whether they are packing spawn in such numbers because you know meltaguns and Aspiring Champs with powerfists/meltabombs are pretty stock standard in such a list and how else is he gonna have won an apocalypse battle if he didn't have anti-tank firepower?

The first time I've ever actually fell out of my chair laughing... Bravo to Typhus and to those poor souls trying to be reasonable and pull this thread out of the doldrums.
But on a more serious note, has ANYONE else ever played with this many spawn or even a third this many? A small piece of me thinks Typhus is just making it up and hasn't ever done this or would even think of doing it in real life.

The op was clear enough to credit some viable responses (as such as have been posted on this threat) but vague enough to warrent some sceptism (again, also seen on this threat). I reckon your trying to fight the cause purely coz you wanted to have a rant. Ive quoted above to counter some of the remarks you made.
Any one can do it, it aint hard.
My opinions on the matter - Typhus - If you fancy making a whimsical army slightly fiesable please be a bit more clear about your intentions & likewise if you seriously concider a list to be viable and worthy (of the title cheese?) say so. In general put a bit more effort in, otherwise everyone else will go crazy over ( OMG! 30 SPAWNS) that many spawns

Well, I always try to be constructive. Here obviously not. Sorry.
What to improve?
Basically nothing but the upgrades.
The Lord should have some nasty weapon, the Bikers should be led by AC (meltabombs) and PM should get plasma guns.
Hope this helps.

Some threads should come with "read at own risk" disclaimers.
As for spawn, the only real use I have found for them is sticking one or two between a dreadnought and the units I dont want blasted/maimed if the Dread goes ape ,oddly,I considered this a bit of a points waist....well that is until now.

The spawn idea works for all you non-beleavers. i've seen 40 spawn on the table at once in a apoc game it works really well if you use them well but one mistake could cost you all your spawn so i say go for it and keep trying although i would lesson the amount just for the fact you need some heavier hitters. and no its not cheesy.

The only time I was amused by a Spawn (and felt it had been effective) was when my Ork Warboss and Painboy were turned into them by a Daemon player. That being an entirely different concept, though. Otherwise, Spawn are not so hot.

IMO if you want a "playable" army you should at least drop half the spawn
and put in some Havocs/DP/or just more PM.
......30 spawn... if you are'nt buying them in the Tide of Spawn
set you must be..... friggin crazy!
