This is the French Games Day right? So where is the Golden Demon coverage? I mean...these are the French we're talking about, probably some of the best mini painters in the world!

Some of that stuff looks so awesome! Can't wait. I have 6 dread but now that I have seen the new Ironclad Painted, I may have to get another!

The terrain is fantastic.

And there were a lot of people there, I don't think I have ever seen that many for the LA games day.

And does anyone know if there will be an LA games day this year?

Yeah, the one thing those Frenchie's do well is the Golden Daemon. Some of the best painting creations ever have come out of that place, including that Dire Avenger Exarch from last year or the year before that is easily the best painted model I have ever seen. I've only seen one so far, the converted Howling Banshee Wraithlord (yes, you read that right) walking over some ruins to fight a Commissar!!!

Anyway, Planet Strike just looks amazing. Looking over the 'Indominatable Fortresses' page just makes me salivate, and not just because of that terrain piece (*crosses fingers* please be real and not a scratch build please be real and not a scratch build *crosses fingers*). The rules look like fun and the ideas for combining it with Apoc and Campaigns is just great!!! The new Guard Codex is a wash - another bland Codex from a company who seems to alternate between awesome and boring - but this Planet Strike looks to be the next great thing!!!

We have already had this discussion in the first thread where the new model was revealed. I for one don't think that they look similar apart from the very general "lots of legs/carapace" look that they owe to the original source that they are based on... I don't think that the FW model is closer to the WM model than the WM model is to the inspiration.
Personally I think the cryx model looks terrible, while this new FW one looks great.

I said it looked like a cryx warjack on the first page of the first topic the thing showed up in. I think it may have even been my first post there. GW fandom my left foot. They are very similar, but the differences are large enough to ignore the similarities. Besides both of the cryx jacks that followed that design looked kind of clunky and silly.

Yeah well in 1983 I said that someday GW would make a blood slaughterer of Khorne that loks just a cryx warjack, so you're behind the times man, behind the times.

Lots of hydra batteries in those shots. And it's in the new codex. COuld it be coming out in plastic sooner than we think? I've heard no rumors one way or the other.

no stairs

plus reading more the trim/edges of the platform can move up and down, to make a sheilded platform or a unfurled(unsheilded) platform as in the picture.
sheilded gives a 4+ save.
unfurled allows disembarking at speed.
you can switch between modes at the start of the movement phase, as long as you have a non-vehicle model in contact and no enemy are nearby.

With all this detail for a platform with petals... why didn't they do the same for the drop pod...

Panic...

Terrain that can be modified during the game? That's pretty damn cool. From there it's only a small step to bridges and stuff
What do you mean with "disembarking at speed"?

People who can't hold their tounge sometimes say that there are so many great painters in France because so few of them actually have a job. That would of course be a very mean assumption

It usually takes a week to 10 days for the GW people to post that up.. They might have been doing a draconian no camera zone around the Golden Demon entrys..

How lame is that! Especially with the GW site being reduced to only "online store buy me zone" without that much else...

Back in the mid-'90s, there was a guy who had a similar Space Hulk table that he'd bring to cons and such. It wasn't quite as nice as this, but it was huge, 3-D with multiple levels and still very nice work. It's pretty wild playing on something that big with say, 6 teams of Terminators working together. I wonder whatever happened to him and that table?

Those aren't Hydra batteries, they're just the "Imperial Quad-guns" that are in the Planetstrike book. Way too small for Hydras anyway... although I guess people could use them in a pinch.

I dunno...

My Summary

Sentinel Spurue: IDK what the current sprue is like, so I can't comment

Planetstrike: Looks Promising

Ironclad: I feel slightly disappointed by how the seem in those pics, but maybe it's the smurf colour scheme

Fortress: Very nice, I don't think it will be put on sale as it isn't as 'generic' as standard GW terrain (Too much DA-ness), but then again, maybe t's customised

Blood Slaughterer: Not very impressive at all, IMO it's just ugly

Valk conversion parts: Conversion kits are usually welcome by me

The Space Hulk table made me pee a little, it may be the new box as the terrain seems to be split up into smaller squares, if that is the case, I'm getting this box!

My fav by far is the Banshee Wraithlord.

I own two Wraithlords both set up with BL and EML. Never thought the loss of a Heavy weapon was worth the Re-roll that the sword gives...until now. That is just too freakin cool. Can see what my next Eldar Purchase will be...with a batch of greenstuff.
