Amazing work, truly. The only thing you cold change would be the "termie" head.

Hey, man, I'm working on it. So far, all I've got for paint is one of them half finished. This is still going to take me a while, but I'll get there.

I'll post the first finished one up once he's all done.

I think the most impressive thing about this project so far is how long it took you to paint the sergeant. Not to knock the amazing sculpting work of course.

Well, I painted him a long while back as part of an overnight painting contest (you bring in minis that have been primered, and see who can get the best results on no sleep). I think there's a thing or two I'd like to change on him (mostly, I think the base is a little too monochrome) but overall I'm happy with how he turned out.

Groups shots? Hm... I'll have to think about that next time the light box is set up.

I know since I was there If I remember right I was watching a lot of old crappy horror movies and playing WFB & 40k in the keep's basement that night rather than painting. It's amazing how quick you were able to achieve those results, even when sleep deprived!

Yeah, but it is also a lot of fun to get a mini like that finished in one sitting. And its fun to see how much sleep deprivation affects your painting.

I've got another one of them half painted right now. I'm sure he'll finish up over the weekend, and I might go ahead and start up a third (depending on how complicated I want to make them)

They are Warmachine/Dark Age bases. I've heard them called "Show Bases" before, and I think the term is appropriate. The lip makes the minis look just a touch more showy. I think all of the minis here are on Warmachine 40mm bases.

This throws back to the stuff it seems like WD just doesn't do anymore.

The pen is mightier then the sword, but you must keep a sword handy for when the pen runs out of ink.

To be fair, White Dwarf really never did stuff like this on a regular basis. Issue 300 was an exception to a lot of rules- it was massive, and had some pretty wild painting and conversion examples- a lot of them came from all the GW stores across America (I happened to know someone who got in it- he worked at the GW in Denver).

The big "UNAPPROVED" stamp was something that was never standard in White Dwarf.

(Oh, and by the way, I just finished painting the first Marine. I'll have pics up soon).

Sometimes you've got to seek out the long haired orks for that very purpose.

Anyway, here's the new Painted marine:

I'll keep them coming as I finish them.

I think I needed those two alternate pics because someone pointed out that you can't see the Us on most of these marines.

Ah, well. I'll make sure to put some prominent Us on the rest of them.
