Hehe
I kindly appreciate the support, but there's no need to argue so much if one person doesn't like the idea, afterall it's just one person.
Anyways, my final exams are this week, so I will try to finish the first of the artwork to leave you guys with something to think about while I take care of school stuff.

I think it would be a laugh. And would enjoy playing against it. You can make everything stupid obvious with orks so it shouldn't be a problem telling whats what..

I wouldn't care as long as it was a friendly game and you clearly spelled out which units were which. I feel people too often get caught up in WYSIWYG being drilled into their skulls they can't differentiate between friendly games and competitive games anymore. That's not to say completely disregard it, but people should be open to trying new things with an opponent assuming only one thing. That they have played against and are familiar with the person they are playing with. It would be a horrible first game to have to sort out what all your units were. However, if someone knew you from games before they may be more willing to let you experiment.

I am both selfish and chaotic. I value self-gratification and control; I want to have things my way, preferably now. At best, I'm entertaining and surprising; at worst, I'm hedonistic and violent. |

Sorry to hijack the thread, but I was thinking something similar. I had been thinking over a couple of possible armies to build, one of which being Traitor Guard. I had been lamenting that there was no legal way to take Daemons or Chaos Space Marines with them (outside Apocalypse) when I thought of incorporating them. Would using these guys to represent the Guard HQ/Elite units be taking things too far? For example, using a Chaos Sorcerer as a Primaris Psyker. I would be wanting to keep them fairly close to their original models (minimum WYSIWYG changes possible) so, for the fluff, they actually are Daemons or Space Marines, but by the rules those Plague Barers are actually Ogryn, for example. Would this be pushing things too far (especially in the case of the Power Armour that is very much not)?

I've been thinking about a Blood Axe "counts as Guard" army, but my modelling-fu is weak :(
I sounded out my regular foes, and they are fine with the idea, so long as units can be told apart. (Mind, we are all quite new, so have nt got into recognising squads by WYSIWYG, we still ask "What is that squad, what is it armed with?" a lot)
Sure, if someone doesn't want to play, thats fine. I'll keep an Ork Codex list to play instead.
No harm , no foul.

Go ahead I say. That sounds like pretty small and easy to understand "count as". If you want to be on the sure side, just do the explaining army-list with both descriptions of your units (eventually including pictures) together with names and rules for what they counts as and most players should be more than happy. In a tournament setting you should be fine as long as you have roughly the same size on the models and specially on the bases, but ask the organisers if you are unsure. You can btw have power armoured chaos marines counted as allied sisters of battle or grey knights, including power armoured inquisitors as your psykers. Besides I'd love to see this army built.

Would be very cool, and I'd love to play against it if given the chance.
How funny would it be to use Ghazkhull counts-as Yarrick?
Also, in the clans fluff in the ork codex it states that blood axe orks often work with humans.

If this is doable, then would it be acceptable to modify a unit of Fire Warriors to have Guardsmen feet and hands (everything else is covered)? I think it would be cool to have a unit in my army that are like Auxiliaries but trained and equipped as Fire Warriors.

Just remember humans are taller than Tau fire cast and (way) taller than other casts.
Anyways, on topic:
You guys are gonna love my looted Valkyrie/Vendetta artwork; I just finished the sketch and showed it around, lots of positive comments so far
I'll try to get the color version as soon as I can next week (I'm practically zombie walking right now from the exams)
