Well to my understanding there is no size dictated in the rules

Scoring units on the multiple objectives

This seems a good place to ask such a question

For example 30 boys on one objective and that they are within 3 inches of another objective do they hold them both

Yes.

If I lose it is because I had bad luck, if you win it is because you cheated.

BIG AND RED IS AWESOME!

Also yes, they can. it was even covered in the GW BRB FAQ (and for once was not a rule change disguised as an FAQ!)

A. Yes, absolutely, but we find this does not happen that often when enemies are around...

At my local GW, I've seen all sorts of things used as objectives; small keychain pokemon figures, unused miniatures, dice [I really don't recommend this, though], small bits of terrain, and even better ones like the translucent green flags and custom bases. I made some interesting ones myself, including a sword sticking out of a large stone. They've all been about the size of a 25mm base, though. Seems to be the standard almost everywhere I've seen and read.

But of course, you could make larger ones. Though, I'd ask the organizers about it if you are going to another tournament in the future.

My Forces:
DA Consecrators- 2000 points' worth, currently shelved

Imperial Guard - about 2000 points' worth, soon to be expanded

Christmas Orks - 1750 points' worth

The best ones are 3 inches in Radius made out of some plasticard with some terrain and a mini diarama. Using the wounded space marines figures as objectives is excellent as well.

Its just cool.

I only have two rules in life.

1. Don't sweat the little stuff.
2. It's ALL little stuff. [see rule 1].

Anything else is simply taking things waaaaay too seriously.

i think its from the base of objective

because of the rule with the B. Mek w/kff in transport
measures from anypart of the hull of tthe vehicle

now i know this is from the ork codex
but i think its the rule that most resembles the one in question

Some guy at a tournament was using a pin stuck in the table for an objective.

And I was all like "FRnGrnGfrnRFng!!!!! you cant use a pin its too wide the objective is an abstract point in space with no length width or height GNFFRnFRnFRgnrFRnRfnrfnrfNfRnGFRnRF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111"

The Emperor doesn't seem to do much for you but you sure are expected to be mutilated, suffer, and die to make him happy. And is he dead or what? If he's entombed that would mean he's dead as a doornail, right? So, how can he be happy about anything you do, or even give orders to anyone? Are you worshipping the dead now? Is that something you'd really want to do? Because it sounds freaking creepy to me.

Valks are such a bad model for game purposes. For scoring purposes they effectively "land". At least that is how I would play it. Since assaults and getting out can use the flying base IIRC, you should use that for scoring as well. The game is an abstraction, adding such a minor one isn't that big a deal.

As for objective markers, it really doesn't matter what rules you use for it, as long as both players are playing it the same. Tourney organizers can pretty do much what they want for it, and casual players can do what they want anyways.

GW is missing out on some easy money though, imagine the sales they could get by making a nice kit called "Official 40k Objective Markers" All it would have to be is a box of sculpted bases. Then require players to have an official GW model representing your army on it. That green template kit is both overpriced and junk. A color that doesn't make my eyes bleed would be nice.

I always mount mine on 40mm bases and have had no problems with them.

I have a bunch mounted on 60mm bases (a very old Citadel Miniatures bloodstained altar; a couple of scratchbuilt Eldar-ish standings stones; some weird Ork gubbins that's made from a washing machine part; and some SM ammo cases). They seem to work fine...

I usually declare my left index knuckle as an objective. At the time it's a point on the table, and miraculously it's always within 3" of my troops at the end of the game.

Make a nice scenic base with a thin flag in the middle. The objective is the "point" flag, and the rest is all eye candy. That should make everyone happy.
