The warning pop up is not always accurate and there are some bugs and quirks with it (I think if you edit the OP it can throw out the date calculation). Regardless, the pop up warning is simply there as a visual prompt to remind people not to bump within 4 days. If you are outside that time limit then it is fine to ignore the warning.

Might have suggested this a time ago but possibly make a sub forum for USA or nonUSA threads. That way it helps the rest of the world!

How can you edit the title of a thread to add new items so as to not mislead people? I seem to be able to delete text, but not add anything new.

There's a maximum number of character for the titles. Try using Acronyms to get the character count down if you have to.

Makes no difference, unfortunately. Even after deleting things, I can't enter anything new. I'm assuming it's something to do with the application of the format for thread titles.

To clarify, are you clicking the 'Edit' button at the top right of your original post as thread starter? If you are doing that and still having trouble then I suggest you post a thread in the Nuts and Bolts section detailing exactly what you are doing and how so that Legoburner can look into it. I haven;t heard of anyone else having this issue but it might be a strange bug manifesting itself.

Now that the deliveries are arriving, Is there a combined Reaper Bones swap shop thread?

I imagine there are a lot of people wanting to swap certain bits. Would it be better to start a dedicated sticky thread for Bones swaps than have everyone start their own??

I think a single active thread would be fine, though I think we can do without sticky-ing it.

TCG/CCGs are ok since they're generally gaming related.

With regard to threads: you can choose to just keep using the same old thread if you want. However, if it's been a while, you can feel free to start up a new thread, so long as you stick to only a single active thread (if you've left a thread to just die out, we don't consider it to be 'active')

I don't know if this is the thread for suggestions, but can I make a suggestion about swapshop etiquette - if people are posting threads which contain purely ebay listings, it seems a bit pointless at first glance - as we all have the ability to just browse eBay, and that thread is still taking up space on Dakka - perhaps it should be considered polite to offer dakka users a discount, if only a token one. i.e if you offer a min' discount based on the lowest increment you can bid up (i.e for the UK you can bid in increments of 50p), then you are still technically giving your item to a dakka-ite for cheaper than your nearest bidding non-dakka eBay user. caveat being that the user joined before listing started of course, haha.
I fully intend to offer a discount of 5-10% should I ever post eBay listings - afaic this doesn't make me a loss, if a dakka-ite can bid higher knowing he gets a discount, then either the two things cancel each other out, or it bumps up the number of bids regardless. Everyone's a winner.

Also, before Christmas I gave away a whole pile of scenery bits for no charge at all, other than postage. May I humbly request that a seasonal tradition is started whereby before christmas each year a 'seasonal goodwill' thread is started, wherein people give stuff away - i.e. - can only charge base postage? That would be nice.

I'm new to this whole trading thing, and I'd like to get rid of some models. However, I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to pricing them. What's a good place to start when it comes to setting prices?

I presume it's something like "take the price on GW and cut it by a bit," but I really have no idea what I'm doing here.

Ebay this are fine. The only thing we ask is that you don't spam the forum with multiple threads pointing to single auctions each, but rather, consolidating things to a single thread. Also, posting up threads on anear daily basis is also highly frowned upon.

Most importantly, make sure to include a link to your auction (happens a lot that people forget) and make sure to add 'EBAY' in the thread title.

How can we list multiple items, when one is Ebay and the others are not if auctions have to have Ebay in the title?

I think allowing one non-auction topic and one ebay topic would be a good thing.

You can clearly define a thread with an Ebay auction with the tag [Ebay].

It also causes confusion because if you have two threads concurrent with your trade/selling stuff and people respond to one but not the other, it could get hectic trying to juggle it all.

I get you can mark it 'ebay'. But when there is only one ebay item and the others are not, It does not seem fair to tag it all as 'ebay' in the topic title, since many folks will assume it is just ebay items and possibly skip the topic as a result. Marking the non-auction items 'ebay' is more confusing...

We understand the concern you have, but it would definitely have a snowball effect to have people multiple threads open (as has happened before in the past). We don't think it's terribly unreasonable for people to stick to one thread at a time and to just adjust the titles (while within the proscribed formatting) to make note of any particulars regarding the thread.

As an example:

[H] Trades: SM, IG; some Ebay [W] Ebay; Trades: IG, Tau [USA] [EBAY]

Or some variation thereof.

How am I able bump my post? Every time I write a reply updating the information, or pertaining to a new deal, the post is Appended to my original post. It's been awhile and my post is reaching the third page. I saw someone with a similar question, but no answer. If this is how it is supposed to work then you can ignore this.

Hey Marklt31,

For now, you can just edit your current thread to reflect how you want things.

Is there a way to kill old(I mean years old) posts? I've been getting a couple of PM's from folks asking for stuff that was posted 2-3-4 or more years old.

Hope more old fools come to their senses and start giving you their money instead of those Union Jack Blood suckers...

There are required region tags at the end of each thread. There is not enough traffic for any one region to warrant breaking it down further into regions.

Am I allowed to make a thread asking about reasonable prices?
I have a bunch of stuff I will be getting rid of once I sort it out, a lot of it old, oop and/or limited edition models.

I've been out of the hobby for a while, so I'm not sure what many of these things are worth these days, and while I don't want to rip off a fellow gamer, I don't want to shortchange myself either.

No - please post such a thread in the relevant discussion forum - e.g. in 40K General Discussion or just in the wider General Discussion section. Once you have aggregated responses and got the info you need, you can then go ahead and create a Swap thread to sell it.
