And do they have a website where we can all get that deal?

Just looked on maelstrom, and they dont have the Imperial strongpoint listed anymore, unless I just couldnt find it.

also, while Maelstroms prices are great, shop around some, cause dont forget that paypal adds 2.5% to your total for their exchange fee.

my $99 order turned into $110 after paypal went through. so I canceled the order and went with http://www.thebrokenforge.com and it came out to $103, so I saved a few extra bucks. this was before the 17% off coupon though.

And that's Maelstrom's fault how?

Simple answer:

Don't use PayPal.

I use PayPal and Maelstrom, and at least for the Euro to Pound conversion, no 2.5% is added on by orders/bills.

The only thing you have to watch out for is, that PayPal uses the current exchange rate, while the exhange rate on the Maelstrom site doesn't update as frequently. This can cause the price in Euro/Dollar to be slightly different on the site than on your bill. But the price in Pound should be exactly the same, so you can convert yourself on a currency site if you care about the minor difference.

Maybe it's a pattern, don't order shiny new stuff until a week afterwards when Maelstrom hands out the vouchers?

There are alternatives to credit cards that don't involve PayPal.

Probably because I only buy things from GW once or twice a year. So rather than buying things every month in dribs and drabs, I buy everything at once, in bulk.

This year must've been a special year then with Planetstrike and Guard.

I didnt say it was their fault, just pointing it out.

you might want to double check that.
https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_display-fees
paypal always adds a 2.5% charge for currency conversions.

You don't need a credit card.

At least in the USA if you have a Checking Account you will usually get a debit/check card associated with it. Generally they'll be backed by VISA or MASTERCARD allowing you to use it just like a credit card, except it withdraws funds directly to your account so you can't spend more than what you have.

THINK before you post.

I had a look at this last night and put over £200 of goods in my basket, input the voucher code and found that 17% was deducted (rather that the usual 10%), but then found that the 4% bulk discount was removed? I didn't proceed with the order as I was assuming (this being the operative word here!) that the 17% was a further discount to that already listed on the site or I would at least get the bulk order discount?

Has anyone else found this to be the case or have I got the wrong end of the stick completely?

Tiered discounts are disabled when using a voucher code. It says so right in the email with the voucher code.
