The reason I know it is two headed is because in the article it states- Why is the emperor fighting a two headed snake? It acctually say's it is two headed and that it is the emperor.

"In the centre of the shield you can see the Emporer, but who is he fighting? What's the significance of the twelve points around the shield and the icons on each? On the head of the hammer you can see an eagle and a lion-do these signify the Adeptus Astartes and the Imperial Gaurd, or something even more significant?"
I never read anything in the issue of WD 342 about the snake being two headed, i don't think i over looked it but i may be wrong. But they kind of leave it open to us to unravel. So there's a chance they may base the interpritation off of our own conclusions. (fan mail, forums and the like)
But dont get me wrong this is all very interesting and i think it would be very cool if GW would further the story line just a little more than editing the one we already have. (owwwww noooooo the tyranids are comingggggg) Its just getting a little old IMO.

Well the lion and the eagle are two of the four creatures of Ezekiel IIRC (don't know if its ezekiel but I do know they appear on the Tarot cards and the other two are the cow and the man). Also england is represented by the lion and the U.S. the eagle so it may be representative of something other than the fluff.

I doubt it's any political things, GW don't really go in for direct political satire, our GW shop bans conversations about religion, serious politics and for some reason the shop owner bans WoW talk...

I wasn't talking about politics i was thinking more along the lines of some game related event that involved both countries or will combine the circuits (mostly this is just wild speculation but maybe it will help someone think of something).

Just a little thing I noticed in my GW store in Manchester, England all the staff are wearing t-shirts with a chaos symbol on the breast pocket with, everything you have been told is a lie. And a poster with Coming September and then a big--?-- below it. It can't be legion codex's because the next codex to come out is Space Wolves and that comes out in October.
From this I think it is either a worldwide/uk campaign or it might be something that advances the story of the 40k universe? What do we think?

Good pointing these ouit. There is definitely some symbolism here. However, I think it may be from mankinds view, and therefore shows the hope for the reincarnation of the emperor and therefore mankind. Automatically Appended Next Post: The Angry Commissar wrote:Warboss Spleenstaba wrote:

Great Unlclean One wrote:There was acctually an article in a white dwarf about the hidden meanings of the picture so I think due to the fact they acctually hinted at a hidden meanings, I think brings this out of the realms of conspiracy theorism. Also, look carefully, he isn't fighting two snaked but a two headed serpent, could this represent Horus? Also, in a timeline in the new rulebook there is an entry that states that the techmarines have found a fatal flaw in the golden throne and are unable to fix it. I think it was WD 343.... Just some things to think about could someone please tell me what page this was on because I read this one about 3 times and havn't found it.
