Bolters... Hmm that is a good one to think about, if they are designed for a space marine, and the space marine stands roughly 7' 1". I would make a guess that it is maybe in the range of 75 lbs. and maybe 2.5' long. maybe even longer, but I am not sure of the with of a Space Marine's Bust and Models show a Bolter spans their Bust pretty well. so maybe even 3 feet long.

What is your opinion Redbeard.

PS. @Redbeard I am using your Statement in my Sig if it is okay with you, I about died laughing.

So 8' in armor or 2.4384 meters? I figured that's how tall the "real life model" at the Battle Bunker was. Be sure to check out my next thread:

Gawd as my witness I said no one would get that reference, much less in the next post.

I think it depends with the Primarchs, Magnus and Mortarion were the tallest possibly 15-16 feet. The others might be from 11-14 feet.
Actually, it depends on the git who is writing at the time.

... I enjoy looking at that Picture lol

Makes me wonder why he missed the fact that he got all these great details but forgot how to number a height Scale XD

Based on the on the life size space marine statues GW made, exactly 7 feet 9 inches in mark VII power armor. A FLGS (now closed) received one and we measured it with a tape. It just barely cleared the 8 foot drop ceiling. The bolter itself was as big as a midsize car engine.

I'd say around 7 feet out of armor.

The way I think about it is that a space marine is roughly one quarter as big again as an ordinary human. So someone who would have grow to an average height of 5' 9" say would make a roughly 7' 1" space marine.

Of course if you would have grown up to be over six feet naturally that would make you getting on for eight feet as a marine and even taller in some cases.

They aren't dropped in accordance to height, they would be divided into a company that best suits there body and abilities, for instance a tall (even for a marine) person with 20/20 vision would be part of a devastators unit.

oh yes, those that are too tall for standard arour have srmour specially built for them, like Pasanius from the "Ultramarines" books, he was a full head or so taller than all the other marines, so they tachmarines made his armour from a suit of irreperably (spelling?) damaged suit of tactical dreadnought armour.

Besides, the guys get a chance to let their FABULOUS! side out. - Fafnir, regarding male howling banshees

The weight of the Boltgun seems pretty ridiculous beings its just a fully automatic 12 gauge Shotgun that fires rocket propelled slug rounds.

The Bolter being .75 cal makes it roughly a 19.5mm round which is about the size of a 12 gauge slug.

Yes that does sound a little heavy but we also can only make assumptions out of how heavy the material is, that the Bolter and its Slugs are made out of

If a 19 mm Brown Bess Flintlock Rifle weighs 10.5 .lbs (4.8 kg) and measures 4.875 feet (1,490 mm) long. You could only imagine how heavy a Bolter, roughly 2.5 feet (762 mm) long, 1 foot (304.8 mm) tall, and about 5-6 inches (127-152.4 mm) thick. With the magazine holding 30 Rounds, and a 12 gauge slug weighs 9.7 grams about 11.8 grams with the lead and plastic and brass casing included, I think is quite feasible to see a Bolter coming up in the 55 - 70 .lbs range. However, it is all fiction and everything is just speculation, until someone from GW comes out and says exactly how heavy a bolt gun is. All we can do is bicker and sling facts of modern weapons and our feeble ideals about. lol BUT! H**l that is still fun to do XD
