Great looking model! The poxes and boils all over the model, as well as the decomposed areas, really make that model look disgusting! Great job!

Sorry its the giant model I swear to you. The skin is looking really good so far on the sculpting

I know, it still looks like the Giant, but I havent started with the head yet... I will. I still have to decide if I should steal an idea I saw on CMoN, or come up with something myself.

The hands will be magnetized in order for easy weapon switch, so I will leave them as is for now. I still have some outer layers to add on the body and arms, but I think I will leave that for now also and start with the lower body and attachment to the hull.
I am also thinking of adding a nurglish tongue in the belly-mouth under the cannon.

This is coming along very nicely, great use of model parts and some nice sculpting. Beautifully nurgle.

I have seen that model before, its really nice. I am thinking of stealing some of your ideas. The maggots on the leg plates for instance.

I am having some trouble to decide how I shall split this model. Its will be way to high for my 4 inch foam. Either cut in the waist or magnetize the legs. I am really wondering if the magnets will be strong enought to hold the legs in place when I place it on the table. Is yours in one piece, or is it magnetized in some way?

Anyone have any experience from magnetizing the legs of a defiler? I need to cut down the hight of it in order to fit it in a 4" tray.

My model is one piece, it has some weight in the back to keep it on four legs, the defiler was (at the time) my largest project to date, with over 100 individual mini sculpts. Your is looking great, although with the torso it may be confused with a soul grinder. Keep at it , can't wait to see it finished.

So.. its been awhile since I updated this thread....
The reason is that my cheap-ass stompa bits came that I got on ebay a couple of weeks ago. I just had to put it together...
Voila!
A ork bastion.... idea stolen with pride from another thread on Dakka.

I know... the gun is ridiculus, but I find it Orky... it shall be BIG!!! I added a shouting platform as a comm relay.
When I had primed it I noticed that I had totally forgot the 4 sponson mounted big shotas... My bit box is empty of big shotas.... and on ebay the cheapest is $12 including shipping for 4 pieces....

well, well... this project is on hold for now until I have solved this....

Now for the Defiler update.
I have added the hull and pinned + magnetized the legs. I have also sanded the hull with my dremel to obtain some serious wear and tear. Next is to add very fine sand for rust texture and then on with the GS.

Are you going to blend the body to the defiler hull more? Because right now it kind of looks like it just starts and stops. Other then that it looks pretty darn cool

Ofc. As I wrote... I need to add rust texture and then on with the GS. The hull will be completly embedded in flesh and juices.... : )

I love your wounds and plague parts on it. although the one thing i would change is the cut on his back, where it looks like a spine or something sticking out. I think that its really small, i would love to see a giagantic slash down his back, with his spine sticking out. but thats only my opinion

I would make the defiler more bloated, kinda looks small compared to the legs. Other than that, NURGLE!!!!!

Well I resumed the defiler yesterday. Having done the Bolterandchainsword competition model, the ork bastion and some objectives it was time to resume with the project.

Quick update. The lower body is started. The basic shape is done. Tomorrow I will start with some textures.

Not very good angels of the model, I just realized...,,,

Thanks

I dremeled holes and then I took very fine sand and glued it on with super glue. Simple and easy. Will look very rusty when it is drybrushed with boltgun metal and then washed with watered down 50/50 blasing orange/snakebite leather.

There are some details that only show when you zoom up on the model.

Some feedback would be nice before I add the primer, I case I have missed something....

I've really enjoyed wathcing this come along great work man.

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House!
