Even longer story short, if Eldar didn't accidentally create Slannesh the warp would still be more fierce then it currently is and there would have still been a storm around Terra stopping the Emperor from starting to try to rejoin all of humanity and probably no Space Marines.

No. Jesus is sanguinius, The Emprah is the father. Cunsult this helpful diagram.
Jesus= Sanguinus

I really blame the heresy on Lorgar though. Silly little sod goes off and cries because he can't worship the Emperor.

Super emporer hmmm? Verrry Eeenteresting.
I wonder if there was a Mr. Burns-Smithers type relationship goin on between Lorgar and the Emprah? Sounds like the Emprah broke his heart. awww *pats lorgar's back. "It's ok man i think Kor Phaeron over there has been givin ya some looks. Why don't you go over there and talk to him? Come on talk to him, i bet he'll buy you a drink! Go have fun bro, there's plenty of other gods in the warp. Don't let that a-hole Emprah get you down, I got a feeling hes goin nowhere in life."

Actually all of the primarchs who turned to chaos were drama queens. Like Horus(especially) "Dad went home to deal with politics. He must be planning to demand worship! That bastard!" Or Angron("I hate you dad! You won't let me die in a rebellion!")

Calling the chaos primarchs drama queens is a bit much. I mean when your that into an ideal, cause, etc It can cause you to snap when it back fires or doesn't go the way you plan. Some of the best examples lie in churches or political uprising all over the world.

True, you CAN sympathise with SOME of the Traitor Primarchs (mostly Nocturne who was just a bit soft in the head). However, they were definitely overstepping the line going in THAT direction. Holding a grude against all mankind is a bit of a step beyond a personal winge to the Emprah.

The emprah didn't exactly handle most of his primarchs as individuals. He just flaunted power, spit on their pride and demanded they ditch their brothers in arms in favor of his agenda. What pissed off Angron was ditching his allies not the just dying honorable death. He had fought with them for a long time. Mortarion was a similar case. Perturabo was constantly in battle and no matter how many victories he had he never received credit and it went to people like Dorn. Yeah and we saw how well Dorn did when he faced off against his superiors. The IW smashed the Fists. I gotta say the emprah is an arrogant . His dealings with Russ etc showed more of a willingness to deal with them as an equal so they would join willingly not by force. The reason Hors(once converted to chaos) had an easy time making them switch was he dealt with them as worthy allies. Lorgar isn't responsible for what was already there and that was a dislike for the emprah. Chaos just fed the already existing bad feelings towards the emprah. The reason for the hatred towards mankind stems from the fact that the emperor and the Imperium are synonymous and they would have to defeat them to get to him. Then during the war new grudges popped up.

Becuase you don't have access to immolators.
To point things out though.
-Mortarion: Stubborn as a mule, the Emprah had to bail hm out of trouble and in return Mortarion had to swear fealty.
-Angron: A proud warrior like him definitely HAD a good reason to be mad at the Emprah for leaving his comrades to die. However, we don't know the whole story. The Emprah often traveled alone, so he might not of had a whole legion behind him to back him up. If this were the case then saving the rebels would have been all but impossible.
-Nocturne: Your classic serial-killer-vigilante-psyhco
-Fulgrim: What was his reason? Pride?
-Alphurius: The Emperor had a lot on his hands, OK? It's not easy conquering the galaxy, you know? Too bad if he couldn't give Alphie all the cuddles he wanted.
-Pertabo: (spelling fail) Your classic shell-shocked, sick of war type and glory hungry trooper. The Emprah HAD to make use of the tools at his disposal, too bad if the IW were the best at what they did.
-Magnus: Idiot. The whole 'Don't touch the wet paint' syndrome.
-Lorgar: Was upset that the Emperor DIDN'T want to be regarded as a god. (cos that would have been one very selfihs and arrogant thing to do)
-Horus: Why? He WAS getting all the glory, all the praise, why? What was his reason?

I never defended all of them nor can I really defend Angron later when he installed his troops with the crazy chip but I'm saying that not all were whining emo kids. Besides I have said on numerous posts that no one in the 40k universe is good. They are or have done horrible stuff to people regardless of intentions. I just can understand some of the chaos folks point of view. Perturabo( IW primarch) never even gets his name spelled right, no repsect Ok back to topic and why the emprah is a arrogant
First off why is saving Mortarion or Angron really whats best for them? You do realize where they are now? Ok if the Emprah had left them to keep honor/friends etc they would never be where they are now. If the Emprah had left some of those guys alone when they declined they would have never been a factor or at the very least appealed to them like Russ. Next if he hadn't played favorites we would have had as many issues with guys like Perturabo. Horus, I can't explain as easily because he was a golden child though he does make a great antagonist since he was The champion. Also it boils down to writers, developers etc. Then you say what if parents meet etc or but they needed them for the war. Uh not really cause now your fighting them. I do agree it is easier to judge on the after math then when things transpire. The fluff people have also given the goodies some really great villains to either fight or bad mouth as seen on many threads. Let me ask you this then, if they're such whiny punks how come you have yet to win and got your butts handed to ya during the heresy? You can use well without them it make hurt the game but it would be more interesting if you could come up with a different reason besides that or flame throwing. I wish Perturabo had got to replaced Abby as the chaos chosen, I'm sorta partial to my legion.

First up, you guys lost the Horus Heresy. Fleeing into the warp, and getting your home planets destroyed, never has and never will classify as a win. Or even a draw.
Second, hindsight is a beautiful (if sometimes useless) thing. It really doesn't help in this situation. He loved and trsuted them like his own sons, remember?
How did he NOT see this coming?
Mortarion was fighting some sort of xenos oppresor on his planet. Only one dude left. The Emperor offers to help, but Mortarion turns him down and vows to do it himself. He fails, and is at the mercy of the xeno lord, when the Emprah steps in a saves him. In return, Mortarion swears fealty (if somewhat begrudgingly)
I've already run through Angron's story.
How did the Emperor make a mistake in saving his Primarch sons? Are you saying it would have been a better choice (at the time, mind you) to let them die?

Of course we lost how often do they let the villain win There wouldn't be game if they let us finish annihilating you. Thats why the Imperium monkies haven't been whiped clean by the waves of orks, tyranids, etc I mean arrogance on your side is ridiculous. I have this debate with you before and the Imperium lovers still have some sense of greatness because a writer made the hero win. Gee big suprise there... The way it was written it was alot of things that were at fault. Character flaws of the renegade primarchs, the arrogance of the Imperium/emperor, etc. Chaos was winning the war till the writers snatched it at the end so they would have something to sell. Simple as that..

Well actually, chaos wasn't winning. Horus was actually losing the battle at the palace. Sure he was slowly crumbling thier defences, but Russ and the Lion were rushing up behind him with thier legions. If they made it before the palace fell, then Horus would almost certainly have faced defeat.
That's why, in a desperate gamble, Horus lured the Emperor onto the ship (doing everything possible to hide the approaching SW and DA from him). Basically, the whole duel on board the ship was...
