Initially I wasn't thinking of doing a base for it, but more and more I think about I might.

It would also make the legs a bit more secure and the overall model more balanced.

I'm just worried about how much mobility on the board the Titan will have after I do.

You could just do two small bases on each foot. That way they stay stable and doesnt take up half the board

awesome thread by the way. I cant wait to see it when you start painting

I could do that, I did see someone that had two, somewhat small based for each food, but it overlapped and join in the middle, might do something like that.

Thanks, I'll be trying to update it more often.

So I've been thinking about what I am going to do for a color scheme. Now, I was initially going to go with pretty much the same idea with what Forge world did for theirs, red and brass, mainly since my army is khornate CSM army.

However lately I have been having second thoughts. I've been wanted to paint some of my csm in a different color scheme, I got the idea after playing with the army painter in Chaos Rising. This is what color scheme I came up with:

I was thinking something like that, as my own personal color scheme. I'll probably be making a small personal war band for part of my army as well. obviously the army painter in the game is pretty limited, but I'd probably add a splash of red here and there, since it would still be loyal to khorne.

Otherwise I'd go for the more traditional colors:

My whole thought behind this is, I'll probably not be buying another one of these, at the very least not any time soon. I'd want it to be somewhat unique, that it is my Titan, yet, at the same time, I do like the forgeworld colors.

Anyway, I'm open for ideas and input from everyone.

Let me know what you all think.

I say go for the white and gold colors. Remember The Titan Legions were their own seprate entitys.

So I have begun painting the Titan. I decided to try the white and brass on a leg armor plate first, to see how it would turn out. Initially it seemed alright, but as I got further into it, adding some weathering/damage and blood splatter, it looked worse and worse. After staring at what I had painted for 30 seconds, I found myself going over the entire white with red gore. :|

Needless to say, it didn't work out. The red turned out much better.

I've also started painting the inner leg portion. So far so good!

The top image is pretty much 100% the same as a warband i was thinking of doing i just love the contrast of it. I'd go for the top one, i've never seen a white chaos marine, seen plenty of red

Well, a bit too lately sadly. I'll probably try it again on some chaos marines, to see how it turns out, but it just wasn't working out on the Titan. :(

Im quite glad you went with the red and gold for the titan.
Mainly because you painted it very well... and also because it wouldnt fit with the rest of the army at all... yeah you want it to stand out, but an entire red army and one giant white tian... I dont think it would look good... although on actual minis I think it would look quite awsome!

Yeah, that's very true, I'm planing on adding a few unique details, few symbols and what not, to make it a bit unique. Was thinking of doing a symbol across the head. Already have something in mind.

Yikes, this is embarrassing. I haven't put up any updates on the Titan in a long time. I've had the thing for over 1 year, and its still not at all close to being done. :|

With that I set a goal that I'd spend at least 1 hour every day working on the Titan. So far, during the last 6 days, I've accomplished just that.

I decided to paint, what my friends and I have dubbed "Angry Knee". It was good practice and a bit of a challenge to remember how to go about painting it. I also finished the metallic colors on the inner leg portions, which I will upload later.

I'll be updating my progress here, as well as on my blog page. http://acoliteart.blogspot.com/

Enjoy everyone.

Ok, you don't know how relieved I am to see you are a great painter! I can't tell you how big a downer it is to see awesome diversions and or expensive titans painstakingly put together, but then painted to low standards...

That knee is fantastic, what rich reds you've achieved, and in 1 color only the nuances and blending are enough to interest and inspire, nm the rest.

Keep it up, and update often!

Thanks man. I appreciate it.

I definitely know what you are talking about. When I see some expensive models, painting poorly, I just cringe. I wouldn't have bought the thing if I knew I couldn't do it just.

You should get on it! It'll be worth it. Honestly, just try to work on it for at least 1 hour a day. It may not seem like a lot, but it will add up and the more you get done, the more you'll be motivated to work on it longer.

Well, I was hoping to have an update last Saturday, but as it turns out, the inner leg parts took longer than expected. I've been doing a good solid 1 - 3 hours each day so far. I'm feeling really good about it and I'm excited to be on my way to completing this project.

Enjoy! Comments are always welcome.

Thanks guys.

Yeah, getting that red hasn't been easy against the black primer. A lot of thin coats.

Do you use the same red for every coat or do you mixe it?

I've mixed it every time when doing any part.

Basically, 3 coats of red gore, one coat of blood red (mainly away from the edges), and Red wash. Then highlight and shade with red gore/blood red/blazing orange. After that just a wash of black and brown along the edges.

So many projects, so little time... Looking great-love the paint job, makes me want to unpack and finally start mine (after actually pre-ordering the Reaver as soon as it was announced!)
