I thought the Imperial palace covered the Himilaya?

It does. Both older canon fluff as well as new HH fluff has both the astronomicon as well as the main palace situated in/on the mountain range that today is the himalayans.
The palace in its whole takes up a lot of space, something like a continent though.

Heck no.
They are older then the oldest space marine actually. The very youngest would be over 10 000 years old in fact.
Not all know truly what they are but all possess remarkable powers, call it the light side of the warp if you want, not all powers in the warp are negative, just as hate can spawn tangible things in the warp so can positive feelings.
And one can also hide from the other and "know" the other on sight.

Well, I meant that they were more mentally adept to a teenager, what with running around causing problems to feth with the authorities.

Ah I understand.

But maybe it is the authorities that are the problem!
After all the imperium is not run as the emperor wanted it to and as far as I know the sensei that do remember, know about this.

This is also some cause of the inquisitions inter struggles, certain factions are closer to the will of the emperor then others, mostly without even knowing it themselves.

No, he just gets to reincarnate in the warp with the Starchild and kill the demons, and then come back to being awsome emeperor. Maybe even the patriarchs will return!

No, i remember reading it's because when horus turned ahrim used the warp to try to warn the emperor- he failed so he has to sit on his throne to stop them coming out.

He has to sit on the throne to stay 'alive', not because he needs to keep the Daemons out. He can do that without sitting on the throne. He's only there because he can't really do anything else seeing how Horus royally Fked up his St

See, the only reason I question that fluff is this:

If the Emperor needed to be on the Throne to keep the Webway sealed, then would Daemons not have overrun Terra while he was away?

I think it's more a matter of his psychic ability keeping it sealed. The fact that he retreated and asked Malcador to act as his regent was likely because he foresaw the Heresy, and planned out the whole "Right place at the right time" thing.
