Apparently the postal strike is slowing things down, at least that's what Ral Partha customer service has told me the past 2 orders. 10 days to get here. Yikes.

I've googled for ral partha sellers in the US but can't really find anything. Anyone know of any "US" retailers that sell the current RP range.

To H, yeah sorry that I'm a Patriot. From what I've heard of Oz I wouldn't be proud to live there so I can understand your lack of it for Australia. Way to keep attacking me and my beliefs. Lucky for you the Mods don't care.

--The whole concept of government granted and government regulated 'permits' and the accompanying government mandate for government approved firearms 'training' prior to being blessed by government with the privilege to carry arms in a government approved and regulated manner, flies directly in the face of the fundamental right to keep and bear arms.

I used to use them but it took them 1 month to send my minis. I was not impressed. I used Wargames Empire but they no longer sell GW minis. I just put in an order at Wayland games as they are the cheapest I can find, and I've heard good things... paid 3 days ago and they are still processing my order (even though my credit card has been billed already). Oh well... not much I can do at this point but wait

Of course implying that I said it was a bad thing to be a patriot, when I said nothing of the kind.

Fateweaver wrote:From what I've heard of Oz I wouldn't be proud to live there...

No reason given. That's called trolling my dear American friend.

Fateweaver wrote:Way to keep attacking me and my beliefs.

Why would I attack you and your beliefs? I have lots of friends who are American. Two people in my group are American. One of them has been one of my best friends since I was in Grade 5.

No, what I'm attacking is this absurd notion that ordering from Maelstrom is somehow... un-American? Like WTF dude?

You are far too thin-skinned Fateweaver, and you take everything so personally. That's not me attacking you, that's just an observation.

Yes they are abit expensive, but are still cheaper than GW and I usually buy more than $100 worth of stuff at a time. The postage is so fast, I order and get my order with in 3 days of buying it!!!! I love this place fast, cheap [maybe not as much as maelstorm] and great guy to go to if you need something ordered in.

Im a fan of www.gwonline.biz The usual discount for online stores, A great site thats easy to navigate, fast (And free) shipping (In the 3 orders I've placed with them the longest one took was a week and a half cause of the postal strike, the shortest was 3-4 Days which is crazy considering it came from Britain to New Zealand) And they respond quickly to emails. I asked them about the shipping method and ETA first time I ordered and they responded within the hour.

Ok warstore seems to get a lot of praise but its in the US. I am only interested in UK stores. No more posts about sites based elsewhere!

Wayland games seems good, it has a decent discount and seems quite secure. Gifts for geeks is a lso good, a slightly better discount on some models and a better stock of models. It seems as if it has been between these two.

Now i want to know your experiences with only these two, regarding how quick the delievery was, p+p price and whether it was secure.

My Xp with Wayland is generaly good. Some times it takes longer than expected and sometimes it comes in less than 4 days (i live in aus btw, sadly no aussie sites i know of that do cheap GW stuff).

That's good to know since I placed my order about a week ago and it still says Processing on the site. But as mentioned it IS the holidays and apparently there's a postal strike over there? I'm not exactly up to date on current events in the UK.

Maelstrom's pricing and the fact that they ship for free seem great. But I've never once logged into their site and found what I wanted to order in stock. I'd rather spend a little extra money for shipping to another company that keeps better stock on hand than having to wait the extra time it might take maelstrom to get items in stock.

I was just looking at the site a hour ago and maybe 90 percent of their chaos demons were out of stock.

I have had good luck with the Warstore. I have ordered from them once and will order again. I have also ordered from scifigenre.com a couple times with good results. They messd up my order the second time I ordered and sent one wrong blister but responded to my email within a day and sent my missing item right away. They let me keep the blister that was erroniously sent to me so that was a bonus.

Seems like there's a postal strike there every few weeks Forge World does a good job of sending out notices in that regard...and saying a big "Bite me!" to the Royal Post, and just sending it via courier instead.

I'm going to rule maelstrom out of this as its discounts arent as good as giftsforgeeks or waayland. Which is best out of theese two? I may run a poll to find out.

Yeah, postal strike means that my Ral Partha order is going on it's 2nd week since I placed the order. According to RP it's on the way but it's annoying that a CC order takes 2 weeks +.

So far my opinion on Wayland is dropping. I had placed my order a week ago and it was Processing until just a couple of hours ago. Now they are awaiting stock which according to their site says they are ordering the items that I have ordered from their supplier which will take 2-4 more days (with my luck, probably more...) and then it's still got to get over the pond. Now before you start screaming "ZOMG ITS CHRISMAS RELAX" I know what time of year it is, I'm on the same planet as you are. But it took them a week just to place my order. My motivation to paint is dropping quickly and that's dangerous

The only thing left to do is wait it out... hopefully it will arrive soon but I'm not going to hold my breath.

I guess it must be a symptom of these discount sites. I placed orders with both Maelstrom and Wayland over a week ago and both still say 'Processing' as well. It seems you get what you pay for really; I'm not bashing these sites but I think any potential customer needs to weigh up what is important to them - speed of delivery or price. For me personally, on balance I would rather pay a little bit extra and get my stuff quickly.

EDIT: Wayland now shows my order as 'awaiting stock' so ironically enough, despite me ordering from them slightly later than from Maelstrom, it looks like Wayland are quicker.

Yeah you're right. I mean personally it wouldn't be so bad for me but since it's the start of my new army I don't have anything to paint. So if it was simply an add-on or whatever the case may be, it wouldn't that big of a deal. I mean in the end I'm saving ~130$ CDN from the retail price (yes, that much, haha) so I can't really complain. But with this being my first experience with them, it's also forming my decision on whether or not I will purchase items from there again. Therefore, with this knowledge, I will place my orders earlier than intended and everything should be grand

Damn my impatience... haha

In my case, I think my savings came to £20 - £30 on retail price (this is on an order of ~£200). The question I have to ask myself is; is the time I spend waiting for stuff to arrive worth more than £20 or £30? I have to admit in this case probably not.

Look at it this way, though; that's £20 - £30 that you'll have in your pocket that you wouldn't have if you had gone to GW directly. And you'll be getting your minis anyways. But as we are discussing... is it worth the wait? Depends how much £20 - £30 means to you, I suppose

EDIT: I will for sure, Luna

Though methinks it would take even longer to get to you since you're on the other side of Canada (which for those that don't know... is rather large!). Doesn't Great Canadian Miniatures have a retail store near you? I remember I used to order from there a lot but the service was incredibly slow so I stopped... which I think I mentioned earlier in this thread actually, haha.
