I hope you don't hold your breath waiting for this to happen. Currently PP is only producing the larger figs in plastic and that is probably not going to change in near future.

Walton's concept for this guy is pure brilliance:
I tried to design him like an angelic, angry screw. With a sword and flail.

I have Infinity and 40k to hold me over until Privateer crumbles to my amazing mental prowess and releases plastic Trenchers.

The time is near Privateer. The time is near...

Except most of the recent casters are folk who are described as just plain generic...

Caine? Generic gun-mage, only thing that really makes him stand out is his talents. I'm pretty sure talent can't be conveyed in sculpting.
Irusk? Generic kommandant, again only thing that really makes him stand out is his natural aptitude.

The only real ones I can see that "stand out" are Vlad, the Cryx casters, the Menoth casters(due to their fondness for ignoring the ideal of "Blending in with the rank and file makes you a much less snazzy target" ) and assorted Hordes characters.

No love for fat man with Axe?

Caine has two pistols. None of the other gun mages currently have two. That and he
wears a raggedy trenchcoat instead of the military issue coat of the Arcane Tempest
because he's something of a ne'er do well. Or at least, so he behaves, which frees him
up to work for Rebald.

Irusk has a funny hat. Good commanders can command. Great commanders get a
funny hat.

Nemo is wearing a freaking Tesla Coil.

Haley is all cybernetic in epic form.

The Coven are leggy witches who surround a floating ball.

Terminus is big. With wings. Big sword. Shame about the pimp hand.

I must admit, the last stuff I can readily access(background wise) is Escalation. I remember Terminus and the Coven, I remember Nemo(but still don't really see him as anything *too* exciting), and I remembered Haley had cybernetics.

But you do have to admit that most, if not all of Cygnar and Khador's warcasters are really quite similar to the rank and file, just a bit...gussied up or with a few disparities, the twin pistols for example.

I'm not sure if it was intentional(if it was, kudos to Privateer. Cygnar is one of my favorite factions just because of how uniform an army can look) or not, but...
I'm waiting to see if they ever release plastic infantry. The day Trenchers go plastic is the day I enter the world of Warmachine.

It was intentional, as the Warcasters (generally) come from the rank and file. Stryker was a Stormblade, Caine was a gunmage, Fiora was a Flameguard, Sorcha was a winterguard, etc. Even the ones who weren't directly from a unit generally resemble one, such as Nemo and Stormsmiths, The Butcher and Doom Reavers, etc. Then there are ones who don't resemble units at all.

There was an interesting comment from cwalton about warcaster design. Even if the
warcasters come from the ranks there should be something about them, some detail
or other thing that makes their silhouette stick out.

It's probably why they went with smokestacks for most of the warcasters.

This is just me guessing from here on out, but:

Stryker with the funky hair.

Kreoss with a two handed flail.

Original Skarre is awful.

Shambling Magnus.

Ashlynn's fencer look.

Harbinger.

Old Witch.

etc.

If you are confusing these models with the rank and file (even regular Caine) I think that
has more to do with unfamiliarity than anything else. It's like someone who doesn't play
40k regularly looking at a table and mistaking a sergeant for your captain. Or thinking
that heroic space marine x is just another generic leader in powered armor.

AHHHHHHHHHHH I haven't played WM in over a year but that model would make me want to again. I for one LOVE IT!!!

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House!
