Didn't get nowt gaming wise.

I live 500 miles away from my family, and am spending Christmas on my own (well, until 7:30, when I arrive at Giada's for a party and hopefully a leg over). Which is kind of nice, as as much as I love my folks, Christmas with them is a pain in the arse, and this way I get sent cash rather than presents. So I bought a bunch of DVDs.

But I did get myself a load of Nid stuff on order. 2 Trygons, 3 boxes of Raveners, 1 box of Gargoyles, Codex, and picked up the Battleforce as well.

See the pen I got at least had a context. My grand father always gives the worst gifts because he is the biggest tight-arse in the world. I once got one of those in-flight toiletry kits for Christmas - you know the ones you get in planes with the fold-away toothbush and eye mask, yeah? One of those - amongst other gifts. With him stuck in Switzerland this year we had my first ever Christmas without him, so we decided to keep the spirit of him alive in our homes and give each other some really terrible gifts.

I got my parents some squishy toys that I got at work (for free), gave them Christmas cards I got at work (for free) and used someone else's pen to write the Christmas cards (and got the wrapping paper from my Mum - so the gift actually cost her more than it did me). I got a pen (that was lying around in their house), two squishy balls that they had lying around, a grotesque combined shoe-horn/back scratcher and some sort of dust cover which my Mum wasn't even sure what it was when she bought it.

And as they say, it's the thought that counts.

Well, my prezzies are still sat under the tree
the missus has opened hers, but im too hung over to actually do much now lol.
Guess drinking till 5am wasnt the best idea.

@HBMC: My fiancee's grandad is like that. Gave her one of those wind-up flashlights a few years back, for example. She's right sweet and said it's the sort of thing that could come in handy (total rubbish) but I somehow doubt I could get away with giving her anything so terrible as that. In related news, her traditional gift to me is a renewed subscription to WD.

I recived no GW for x-mas. Which was one of my wishes.
i did recive every Terry pratchett movie there is though, and that makes me happier than anything i could have gotten form GW.
So now i have New DVD's to watch and listen to as i paint Non GW stuff

Edit: Sorry to hear about others not having a great X-mas, i use to have those when i moved out on my own out east for the first few years, so i know the ache of it.

But yeah. We just opened presents at the Risley Family Home. Got the remaining stuff to wrap out the Cadian 82nd 'Strike' Detachment.

3x Kasrkin boxes, 6x Kasrkin Special Weapons blisters(Mmmm. Plasma and Meltas) and Valkyries for the Kasrkin/Grenadier Vets.
3x Chimeras to round out the mechanized platoon.
6x Sentinels. Because Sentinels are fluffy and I hate the idea of running nothing but Valkyries/Vendettas as Fast Attack.

Crazy_Carnifex, there's actually a great use for Ogryn Flesh. It's a fantastic way to make a dull carapace pop, or even to make a flat color like Dheneb Stone look like polished bone.

Just got the rest of my loot. Got a new 24" Moniter to go along with my 18" and get rid of my 15"... Also got a FW War Mammoth on order and some other cool stuff (Im not saying I didnt get a calander with nudes on it).

No GW for me either, which, I'm pretty happy about too.

I mean, I can't trust my folks to get a plain red woollen scarf, so what chance that they could find the single dark reaper blister in a GW shop swarming with punters! Also, the GF refuses point-blank to entertain spending money on GW products. - Maybe this is the year I should listen to her! - Nah...

I'm more than happy with my usual sock/jumper/weird aftershaves thankyouverymuch!
