ok, so i put together most of my ground level and got some more pictures to post. so a majority of my bottom level is going to be empty space, which i had to do to make it functional. but i had a great idea which kinda hit me after finishing a box of fruit loops. i cut the box into strips and cut little slits into them, then cut a bunch of tiny strips and fed them through the slits to make it appreat that the pannels were attached. then i glued it down to make a garage door. now i'm going to turn one of the buildings into a bar... but i'm thinking necromunda = sin, corruption, low lifes... STRIP CLUB!!!! so i got a few pictures of the inside of the building with a few platforms i'm going to use to put some half naked slaves and stripper poles, with a table or 2 on the second level. the other building i'm thinking about turning into a weapons depot, but not completely sure about that yet.

i also need a little advice. so i used the screen for the floor on the ground level of the strip club but was having a hard time getting it to really stay glued. now i was using wood glue which i know is part of my problem... but i really hate super glue. i could try and use some wall patch on the floor and then press the screen into the wall patch to get it to kinda stay, but i dont want to fill the mesh with plaster. i wanted to glue it down as a texture for when i'm painting. any idea's?

Is that base laminate flooring?!

Bendy straws are a quick and easy detail to put all over the place.

For scenery work I've become a big fan of 2 part epoxy. It holds incredible and has the consistency of thick PVA glue.

Great work, had an idea for a modular board myself based on a hexagonal structure (Hive, geddit?) which I started to model in card, but foam core could be better. Great ideas, I am definitely inspired to dust off my old gangers!

You sir, are showing some good skills! Love the pipes, wire mesh, and bullet holes. It is looking like a awesome start. I look forward to seeing this board in further stages/completion. Keep up the good work.

If you are having problems with the mesh screen not being rigid enough, try looking into "granny grating", it is referred to, that can be picked up in the embroidering/cross-stitching section at your local wal-mart. It is a thick plastic mesh that is quite rigid, and only costs a few bucks for multiple sheets. It also looks better in this scale, in my opinion.

An amazing project you got going here.

As for ideas, how about something like the mobile drills in movie Total recall.

As a rule it would be a vehicle that drove around the table on a random circuit but wasn't controlled by either of the players.

It would essentially serve as mobile terrain and would stop people from setting up 'road blocks and the like'

I've never played munda before so not sure if would work, just an idea that's all.

Ummmm wow, I am a HUGEEEEE Necromunda fan(personally my favorite GW game) and I love what your doing here.

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House!

ok so i'm thinking i'm about ready to start painting this first piece soon. got most of the fine details done just need to glue a bit of rubble here and there and i think i can put my first coat of primer down. cut some shapes out of cerial boxes and glued them down on the buildings to give some character to the plain surfaces. i didn't really want too use wall patch for a texture cause then it would just end up looking like dirt or stucco. i'm going to add globs of glue here and there and let it dry to make pools of slug and blood. also add some moss after it's all painted. my strip clubs going to be a little plain but i can live with that. all in all it's not going to be a perfect start to my board and far from a center piece of my collection, but i've deffinately learnd alot thats going to make the other pieces of the board get done faster and turn out looking MUCH better

Looking good - have you thought about cutting out some "girl shaped" bits of card and sticking them on the walls? You could try getting neon paints and painting them, say, neon pink, then doing a diffuse neon pattern around them to simulate them being lit up?

Just a thought.

Necro = Win and this takes that and ups it a level, Great stuff Munda-monium, inspiring even. I have mostly made small Fantasy Terrain peices to date, the biggest being a coach house but this really makes me want to build some 40K terrain now.

BTW garage door, genius in its simplicity.

I'm sure you have plenty of ideas for how you are going to proceed but I would like to suggest a few things in case you have used up your creative juices on the strip club!

http://www.copplestonecastings.co.uk/range.php?range=FW Did someone else mention this lot? They do some lovely reactors, bank vaults and other assorted industrial looking dohickies.

http://www.barrule.com/Workshop/sci-fi/products-scifi.htm

Great Sci-fi items you might want to use. Computer consoles, boxes and barrels, I'm not sure the wheelie bins have a place in Necromunda though?

They're not in the US but do ship there, but i'm sure you will be able to find the same components nearer to home.

Hirsts Arts also do allot of molds [including some of the items from barrule] that would compliment your buildings nicely. A bit of effort casting your own but a cheap way of filling a table with some nice items.

The interior looks great, I'd just consider adding some details to the big tank. A ladder an a walkway around should provide some interesting tactical options.
