I like that... I think they could have had more detail in the circular cut-out around the back of the hatch. Nothing that scoring with an exacto knife wouldn't solve.

I guess it is OK.

I'm really looking for the Kans anyway...

Deffdread is a nice base for conversion, but looking a bit flimsy on its own (the exhausts and ball sockets in particular).

Not a Hurricane Bolter, that's a quad exhaust stack.

Yeah, Plasma cannon, DCCW (two variants), Assault cannon, Lascannon, (although I hope it's a TL autocannon...) and not a hurricane bolter.

Looks like two variant gorget-style fronts and three heads.

Could have had a better weapon load out to be honest. - No MM? TL HB's? TL AC's? Shame.

More pics are up too

FOR GREAT LAZINESS!

As well as all of the brand-new models, the Studio has also updated the Imperial Guard Chimera and Basilisk kits. They're both more straightforward to assemble and include all the weapon options listed in the Imperial Guard Codex. The Chimera kit includes a turret-mounted multi-laser, a turret-mounted heavy flamer, a turret-mounted heavy bolter, a hull-mounted heavy flamer, a hull-mounted heavy bolter, a hunter-killer missile and two different tank commanders. And if you are ordering a tank or two, then the Tank Accessories Bitz Pack has a host of useful components that are great for adding a personal touch to your vehicles.

Summary - no heavy stubber for you!

Basilisk only comes with the Earthshaker.

1x Venerable, 1x Deffdread, 1x Killer Kanz = gonna be ~85 euro from Maelstrom. Pretty sweet

EDIT: And I'll need to bitz order a bunch more Drill DCCWs from the Kan sprue to make Gurren Lagann!

The Chimera comes with a Stubber but no track guards. It looks like the Basilisk does still come with a accesoires sprue though; they list it as a 117 piece kit, but the 2 Basilisk sprues only contain about 40 pieces.

I'm liking the Deff Dredd, dead Orky IMO Kans are good too. Venerable Dread is meh, but not really playing Marines at the moment anyway.

Would like to see more Flash Gitz before passing judgement, but the targeting squig is a nice touch.

As for the Basilisk and Chimera, erm... well they look ok, but why did they bother with a new kit again? EDIT - Ok, just read the web site, it was to make them easier to put together

So more than 30 missions, most of which are race specific.

Let's see... Marines, Eldar, Dark Eldar, Inquisition, Tau, Orks, Tyranids, Imperial Guard, Daemons, Chaos Marines & Necrons. 11 races in total, so that's roughly three new missions each.

Or more likely... Marines get twenty and all the other races get one. If anything, this should prove a good indication of their future plans for Dark Eldar and Necrons.

EDIT - Just noticed that at £30 each, 2 Deff Dreds could buy you a Stompa instead

I just saw the price for a basilisk on their site...50.00USD SERIOUSLY!!!(I rounded up it's really $49.50)

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House!

Notice that the Basilisk has no other variants in it, but it has the new easier to assemble chassis and tracks and it includes the tank accessory sprue so they can try and get $49.50 US for it now. I already have two Basilisks, I'm waiting for the other SPA pieces to be released.

The new Venerable Dreadnought will be a good piece for my new custom Space Marine chapter.

I don't do Orks but the Ork Dread and Kans look like a great improvement there for Ork collectors.

Were I playing Orks I've just get Kans and then bulk them up with plasticard etc. The price is really too high.

Redemption are you sure the Chimera has a stubber? No mention in the text and no sign of it on the model.

I cannot believe they really left on the lasguns, they always looked dumb.

The new Kans look SWEET. Good show. I'm actually a fan of the new Dread. Both kits look way better than the spindly metal models. And while I wouldn't say that the new Ven Dread looks better than the FW models - it certainly looks better than the existing GW Ven Dread. And I'm sure is a damn sight easier to assemble than that monstrosity. Did I hear that it has 2 different DCCWs? What's the other one look like - anyone know?

As far as the new Basilisk goes? I call weaksauce on it. No extras? Pfff...

Love the Kans, even though I have 3 of the current ones with converted Zooka's, I'll be grabbing some of these, to fill out other options.

Deff Dread is nice, but I'll probably wait to get a second Dead for the time being, maybe later in the year.

Now the flash Git does interest me, perhaps if plastics arrive, my Bad Moon 'Pirate Ship' Battlewagon for Badrukk and a squad of his boyz may come together after all.
