*People using flimsy measuring by floating tapemeaures to gain extra inches.
*People extending tapemeasures 12" for 6" movement to help judge distances easier.
*People using 'special' dice for leadership and special saves. People using Casino dice which require a flat surface and rolled a long distance or else it is cheating.
*People making extravagant 'counts as' but then exploiting the 'counts as' for things like LOS and templates and assaults by making shooting that couldn't be possible if they used the stock model.
*People ignoring rules for common things when they clearly know how the rules work...

This is common every tourney... People only care when the guy who comes out on top uses one or all of these common cheats. If someone needs to win like that, then so be it.

I agree with most of your list, however this part "People extending tapemeasures 12" for 6" movement to help judge distances easier." Is clearly legal. See page 11 of the BRB under "Movement Distance".

I tend to agree with with "insert color" blow fly. These cheating threads never end well.

Whuuuuuut? I don't have my rulebook with me, but where is extending a tapemeasure 12", locking it, and waving it above the table or even sitting it randomly on the table near a unit you want to assault or shoot with explicitly allowed by the rules? or my Favorite, Drawing marks on ones forearm for 6" and 12" and leaning on the table with your arm when trying to move models.

In general, pre-measuring is not allowed unless explicitly stated by a rule. Doing an action which makes pre-measuring easier or results in a pre-measured distance is seen as best rude and at worst, cheating.

So I am curious what rule on page 11 makes all of this peachy keen and supported by the rules.

nkelsch, this is Off-Topic. It's not quite the cheating that we're talking about, but it's damn close.

Quit it. Unless you're talking about Adepticon, it's off-topic.

Trust me, no matter what damage they have the potential to do, single-shot weapons always flatter to deceive in 40k.                                                                                                       Rule #1
