Neglecting the more important issues that would arise if oil suddenly ran out, I don't think the oil used for the plastic would be the primary concern anyhow. I think they could get by a long time on scrap or similar materials, as mentioned earlier in the post, not made of hydrocarbons, or from sources of hydrocarbons that aren't oil.

I wouldn't be surprised that if you add up the oil used from the creation of a sprue all the way to your FLGS, I bet most of it is used in transportation.

Maybe they'll just switch to using old deep-frier oil that they buy from fast food joints. That way, your Space Marines can smell like french fries!
