I took another look and the camo troopers weren't too bad. The paint seemed like it was thinned down, and it was pretty neat. Only issue was that storm troopers never used camo.

I think they were painted with tempera paint. Really thick, cheap stuff you get at the dollar store that they let you paint with in elementary school.
On the bright side, all you'd have to do to strip the paint off is dunk them in soapy water, haha.
