What does it come from? Why did they invoke the mighty Rainbow!?

Again, it comes from the South Americans. They probably used it because Rainbows are inherently awesome and, until relatively recently, unexplainable.

Its just something magical that happens after it rains. Probably had special meaning to them.

And yeah, I agree, The Native American legends are far underused. I know its a English Company and they wouldn't have much exposure to it outside of old X-file episodes but we have the Internet now. They could come up with something.

They have two, TWO different races based off of different aspects of Japanese culture but nothing about Africa, South America (Cultures, I'm not talking about Catachans) or Native Australians?

Granted, I don't know what they'd do but I'm aching for a new Race that's Not Imperial. Would that be too much to ask for? We have 9 or 10 Imperial codexes (hundreds of SM and IG variants) and only 6ish Non Human ones. My only complaint about the game is the lack of diversity within the universe. Fantasy takes place on one planet and they have loads of unique and varied armies.

I moved to America cos I got tired of looking at the same type of ginger people over and over again. Diversity makes a healthy person like it makes a healthy game. (Look at Rosario Dawson, nothing to do with the discussion but she deserves to be looked at more often) I wouldn't play DnD if you could only be a Human Warrior.

Anyway, Rainbow warriors. South American...

Space Slaan would be a potential for this.

they would need a new name, but that wouldn't be too hard.

a Race of Reptiles is whats missing. they have humans, orks, elves, cows, bugs, chickens. lizards would fit right in.

Why? The Slann have been in 40K before.

And technically, the 'lizard' race is already there... Tyranids are supposed to be more like space dinosaurs (with a hive mind, because that's the defining feature of dinosaurs... ) than bugs...

well, a race that is definitivly reptillian in nature.

nids are sort of a conglomeration of Bug, reptile, and Dinosaur(Dinosaurs and reptiles are different )

I suppose that's true. I could see that. Still, Lizards or some sort of aquatic or tunneler would be cool. A mole person or something. Just not more power armour.

They definately need to make space-lizardmen! The fluff is already in place: the Slann are The Old Ones.

As for mole people there's a race called the Hrud that are basically Space-Skaven.

the problem is that if they add Codex: Lizardmen they will have a very difficult time convincing people that 40k and Fantasy are indeed seperate.

they would need some very different units to the Fantasy ones and would need a different name.

Reptoss?

Saurens?

Yes, they should change the name (slann works for me). In Fantasy the Lizardmen are indeed crash landed aliens.

Rainbow's name does come from the fact that it is a multinational counter-terror team.

"The idea for the title comes from the United States Color-coded War Plans, specifically the Rainbow Plans of the 1930s, where Rainbow Five is the last known plan. In these plans, various countries were given a color code, and the Rainbow Plans outlined strategies for dealing with potential conflicts between coalitions of countries. Rainbow Five, for instance, which is discussed extensively in the Plan Dog memo, details several U.S. strategies for America's involvement in World War II. For Rainbow Six, the aggressor is international terrorists. "

The Multinational agency naming of the unit reason is the "In Continuity" reason.

No they're not. They're the last surviving "top tier" servants of the Old Ones.

They're not Space Skaven at all.

In Rogue Trader the Sisters hunted down and destroyed rogue Marine chapters, as that was their duty.

it may be dated 05, but it doesn't say it is a Hrud.

That picture is from Xenology which I own. It's the best picture of a Hrud to date. They have some weird biological stealth system.
I meant Skaven in theme not actually. Like some pest race that's grown out of control. Hrud are seen the same as rats on spaceships. Vermin that are hard to find and wipe out.
