okay guys ive taken in what critisism i have been given (managed to find them amongst the comment war ) so i have spent the majority of the day sitting and looking, sitting and looking, sanding ,adding more, details and i have taken the model apart into 5 sub parts to make sur ei sand everywhere and that i can get to all the spots while painting. so here are the pics
have worked into the fur cloth hanging over his right leg and have sanded the piping on the legs
i have completely covered the cloak in fur now and am possibly going to adds some over details, cant think what though so any ideas
i found out today that thin dryed sculpey can break easily when being sanded so i had to work into the loincloth, with this i added some more folds
with the legs i have sanded and sorted out a problem that was buggin me. i realised the greeves i made were too low so i cut the gilded edges of a SW storm shield and added them on to make them the right size. and really it seems to work. bit of filling some little gaps and it will be good to go. (well the lower half)
also i have started to make a diorama of a renergade and a imperial guard fighting. the lay out is the imperial is running towards and the renergade has fired and it has just missed. im not sure how to reperesent this (a bity of wire painted red and having lighting effects on the imperial guard where the beam is. if anyone has a beeter idea let me know.
and for the hell of it
 <-- needs a guote

a cow and a calf are cut in half, and put into some cases, to call it art, however smart, casts doubt on arts hole basis. |

Collecting Forge World 30k????? If you prefix any Thread Subject line on 30k or Pre-heresy or Horus Heresy with [30K] we can convince LEGO and the Admin team to create a 30K mini board if we can show there is enough interest! |

or
"if im not back wait a few hours untill it has to go" dirty but funny.
with the pics of the renergade and imperial the cat is watching sooo it could go "khornes kitty watches battle for amusment"

right time for a tiny update.
mainly this is letting you know whith russ ive decided to magnitise him so that he can be switched between display and gaming base. this caused a few problems as the sword armbecame a little further out and so did the cape so i have scupted the cloak a bit more to fit onto the model and same with the arm.
as for the duel i have started painting the base as i managed to spray that before my can ran out.
pics will be up hopefully by the end of the day.

wow, high jacked thread alert lol!
As for the sculpt mate, if you smooth it out you will be heading in the right direction. nothing worse than finding a finger print in you sculpt when you come to paint it.
As someone said the pinky stuff does look a bit blobby. May i suggest you get yourself some brown stuff, similar the green stuff but a bit more robust, and easier to sculpt a more defined shape (IMO).

The fur looks a lot better. Directional mess (like hair) can get really messy if you don't do it with a purpose and a plan, which I think you did. Good improvement, keep it coming!
For future reference, you can use 91% isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) to smooth the super sculpey.. Pour a bit in the cap, then just brush it on with a small brush. Just be a bit careful to not get too eager with the brush, the alcohol actually sorta dissolves the top layers of the clay and makes it sorta slimy. Too much pressure with the brush and you'll wipe out your detail work. Of course, this only works before you bake it....
Edit - not to prolong the argument but, while I agree with Fafnir that I prefer genuine comments over "cool", someone just being a dick about it is really discouraging even if you're a confident artist.

HAHAHAHA!!!! Man that argument was dumb. I was going to say elephant man when you said guess who it looks like. That is because I thought it was meant to look like that because it was said for nurgle. Anyways I thought it looked great although a bit lazy. Not to say that you are lazy but I assumed it was not finished. I think some easy modeling things to spiff it up a bit would be bubbles and boils. I find if you buy plastic bbs and stick them in the sculpy they make great bubbles and if you pull some out it will make great boils.
