@KrootHawk: I like the dynamism of the other one. But if I had to put four or five on the table, I think yours is better. Four or five instances of the same dynamism is just another type of static.

I prefer the flowerpod, spores need a way of slowing down or else they'll kill their occupants. That has none, the flowerpod at least has the semi logical ability to drag air when it choses.

I think they're actually a sort of organism that has embryonic Tyranids in it. The organism travels rapidly down in a immature, adolescent state to embed itself in the surface of the planet. Once there, the pod rapidly matures in the matter of minutes, causing hive-mind enhanced development of the embryonic passengers before spitting them out to wreak havoc upon whatever they come across.

Haha.

I almost envision them as being super-tough, like how acorns are hard. Of course, acorns don't have to make it through atmosphere . . .

Nor protect a creature inside of it from atmospheric height and mutiple G forces encountered when hitting the ground.
I can only imagine the size crater made by a city bus sized acorn hitting the ground from orbit. Then I see carnifexes staggering around dizzily covered in termagants that have been turned into a thin laminate on every surface by the impact.

The flower would be a nightmare if you had to put a bunch on a table, those tentacles would be a PITA...

That kind of fall would be the equivalent of having a five tonne bomb blow up in your face considering thats the force equivalently sized meteors put out when they collide after freefalling. If a carnifex was capable of surviving it then it would be immune to most of this games weaponry.

$25? God damn. So that means for a US buyer these pods are basically about $60 each, assuming I converted that right. So, twice the cost of a drop pod, and only half as good.

As for the argument: you mean 40k isn't realistic? Noooo!

This can't be right... you're attempting to bring real physics into 40K - to the Tyranids, of all things.

Next thing you'll be telling me that the Railgun rumour for the Tau is unrealistic as well...

The House that Peterbilt

59 + applicable taxes is much more reasonable.

This is my fav spore so far as it actually looks Tyranid-ish, as well as having actually delivered something.

The tentacles are a bit big and unwieldy but should be shapable in hot water.

Really tempted to get a couple.

I have two of these and they're awesome. The flower pod is just too unwieldy.
