Not sure what your query is?
2 of 5 can choose a Cyclone Missile Launcher.

Wording for BT Termies is vastly different from wording for SW land speeders.
Also Treadromancy is bad.

The only clear thing about this situation is the lack of clarity.
If GW meant one, they could and should have said (as they do elsewhere) "One model" may be upgraded. Other entries that mean this say so clearly.
If they meant any, they could and should have said (as they do elsewhere) "Any number of models" may be upgraded. Other entries that mean this say so clearly.
It is entirely reasonable to read it either way. Need to discuss with opponents in advance.
I interpret it as meaning one.

"A" Implies only one, but look at some of the other entries in the codex -- instances that say "one" model may be upgraded have just "X points" listed as the cost. Instances that say "any" model may take have "X points PER MODEL" listed as the cost(s).
So look at the typhoon missile upgrade in the codex -- It lists the cost as "x points per model", I read that to imply multiple typhoon speeders are legal in a squad. Further:
Alternatively, is referring to an alternative to the tornado pattern. How many speeders can take tornado patterns? Any. As an alternative, i read that to mean any can swap that option for typhoons. If GW meant for the squad to only have one, then they should have said "one" in the codex entry.

When you have an entry that says "2 models may take...", and then several options are listed(as with the old style codices) every option was put in the singular because every points cost was for 1 of those items.
The SW codex is very different It says Any Land speeder may be upgraded to a tornado by giving it the extra weapon for the costs listed, Then the next entry says "alternatively a land speeder may be upgraded to a Typhoon"
With 2 separate lines and 2 separate option choices with 2 separate wordings(any vs A): we are left with the valid assumption that only 1 may be upgraded to a typhoon.
Weedawg: You do not post often, this is no problem; but when you do post it is generally considered bad form to bring up dead posts(especially one that have been dead for 2 months or more). personally I say this thread on the front page and expected it to be a knew question, then started to get a feeling of deja vu as I read through the posts, then got to my own post and realized I was wasting my time re-reading the same thread instead of just going to the first unread post.
Worse yet was after I rather politely informed you that threadromancy was a bad thing you replied in the manner of a petulant child.

Look Kal, I dont know what you get out of patrolling these forus but you shouldnt take things so serious, If you look at my post I am clearly asking a question.
& why is this so "bad" sometimes people that have just joined post questions about certain subjects that might not have a current thread so they have no choice but to so.. & come on now 2 months isnt that far...lock the thread then & stop bitchn.

Look Wee you can't win here. If you didn't search the forums for your answer you get bitched at. You search the forums and ask a question you get bitched at for threadomancy.
Damned if you do. Damned if you don't.

I'll admit, "Threadnomancy" is a bit of a gray area at times... really a judgment call too, sometimes...
But, having said that, there are rules here at Dakka Dakka (there's a link in my signature), so please read and follow them.
AND, there's a "MOD ALERT" button on every post - if you feel there's a problem, use that, and don't resort to any frontier justice.
OK?

Wee: I didn't mean the original statement as a "warning" or anything, just sort of a friendly notice, note that I also contributed to the answer to your question. While it is often a Damned if you do, damned if you don't; it also kind of isn't. If you search and do not find the answer to your question, the best course of action is usually to start a new thread linking the original thread in your query post. The only time people really get upset about new threads with old questions is when the new thread asks the exact same question that has already been answered.
I do apologize for the "petulant Child" remark; both to you and the other forum members(better is generally expected of me, especially by myself).
Alph: I usually do use the mod alerts, but in this case i thought the simple notice along with answering the question would be better than sending an alert and leaving the question open; I should have been more clear on my meaning with the notice.

Tetrisphreak makes a very good point.
40 points "per model" implies any number. Compare with Fenrisian wolf entry below.
I'm swayed...
