Hot damn that thing's huge!

I'm so sold!!!

And Super Dungeon Explore is honestly the most inventive game concept I've seen in a while. I'm not much into starting new games (I have enough), but SDE has me very interested.

2nd Day! Human Mage -

Mages wield powerful spells capable of burning their enemies to a cinder. Her Fire Wave special attack will clear a room, while the fiery Magma Lance ensures that even the toughest enemies can be brought down. Unlike other Heroes the Mage supports the party with two potions. The White Mage Potion heals her friends and Fire Shield Potion places a burning shield between a Hero and danger.

@Malfred
Not yet but, I've not forgotten. I'll get them out sometime after we launch.

The rules are looking promising, as are the minis.

Great stuff.

--The whole concept of government granted and government regulated 'permits' and the accompanying government mandate for government approved firearms 'training' prior to being blessed by government with the privilege to carry arms in a government approved and regulated manner, flies directly in the face of the fundamental right to keep and bear arms.

We regret to inform you that the Kobold Gougers have eaten the French Hens scheduled to appear for the 3rd day of Super Dungeon Explore.

Poor kobolds are gleefully sent to their demise in droves by the Consul. The Gouger has it worst than most with his lack of any armor. Luckily he found a good long stick to strap his knife to. This grants him the Reach ability allowing him to attack from behind his tougher kin. Don't underestimate him either. Like all kobolds the Gouger possesses the ability to Mob ensuring that he can defeat the toughest of heroes as long as he has a little help.

I must say, SDE minies are great!!! I've browsed through Soda Pop's site, but I can't find an ETA on the minies or rules?

Well, today is the 3rd Day of SDE so I'm "guessing" that you have about 9 days to go.

Ahhh.. Like the Christmas song... I see. The guy in the song sends 5 golden rings on the fifth day. Always made me think that he's Sauron.

So, nine days? Hey, I'm a GK player, I guess I can wait 9 days

Go! Go! Paladin Power!

The Paladin is the ultimate paragon of good. In the fight for truth and justice the Paladin can summon his power to Smite the enemy knocking them to the ground and consuming them with fire. Combat is not the only avenue of this virtuous hero though. His Healer and Iron Halo abilities combined with his potent Elixir potion allow him to keep the entire party at peak fighting strength.

I like that he was originally called a cleric.

And some of the rules mechanics show more with the hero's than the baddies.

I am very excited about SDE. I hope sometime in the next week or two we get a release date and look at the game itself.

Kobold Flinger

Many young Kobolds emerge from their warrens having learned how to hunt bats and other denizens with nothing more than a strip of catgut and a pouch full of stones. Deadly accurate, the Flingers make use of their Missile 6 ability to strike at Heroes from a distance. Their Hot Pot, special attack quickly turns a Hero’s new linen cape into a flaming torch while they conceal their escape thanks to their Smoke Pot special action

Light of foot and sure of shot, the bright shafts of the Elf Ranger have spelled the doom of many terrible monsters and minions of the Dark Consul. Kobolds think twice about hording together thanks to her Sparkle Burst special attack. While her Herbalist special action keeps Heroes from succumbing to crippling status effects.

No rule card for Shieldwall?

Aura 1 is an area affect and is explained in the demo rules instead of directly on the card.

I'll break out the whole thing though as an example since it's pretty simple.

First, since it is a green starburst it is a special action and deals no damage (orange are attacks and do deal damage). The number in the starburst is 1 so it costs him one action point to activate. You can see in the large starburst that he has 2 action points. Aura 1 indicates that everyone within 1 square of him (so adjacent) gains +1 Blue Armor. Auras move with the activating model and lasts until their next activation.

Aura 3 (like for the Paladin's Iron Halo) means everyone within 3 squares gains the effect.

Wave and Burst are similar in execution.

Wave covers the exact same area as an aura but it's instantaneous. So only affects people in the area at the time of activation.

Burst is also instantaneous but instead of using the activating model as the center of the area effect it uses the model targeted. For instance, the Elf Ranger can use her Missile 8 in conjunction with her Sparkle Burst to to hit a clump of kobolds up to 8 squares away.

Enter the Dwarf Fighter!

The dwarf I think is the "worst" of the bunch fig wise. Not that it's bad or that I don't like it mind you, it's just that a dwarf is already short and stubby so the chibi style doesn't look all that special on it. It just comes out looking like a dwarf with a larger ego.

I may have missed it, but what are the plans for how this game is going to be released? A boxed set with rules and figs? Or something more like Warhammer where the rules and all the figs are separate purchases?

It was supposed to be 12 days from the 7th?

So we have got until Sunday for the final announcement.

Hopefully it tells us all the things you asked.

I have to say, I think that the Dragon Priest is my favorite so far. Loving everything so far, though, keep up the good work Soda Pop.

Love the Kobolds and their wee Amerizilla heads

I know nothing about SDE except for the display from, I think, Gencon, and that the chibi deal is great. On the dwarf, he's actually my favorite of the lot, though yes he has not been thoroughly (re)deformed as much as the others

Glad you're all enjoying the previews.

Lets see if I can clear up some questions on release. As part of our 12 Days of Super Dungeon Explore preview we will be releasing a pdf of our demo rules. We will also be releasing all the miniatures you need in order to play the demo. Namely, the ones we've been previewing. They'll be packaged in blisters in such a manner that if you buy one of each blister you'll have the exact numbers of everything you need for the demo.

The actual full release of the game is slated for Q2 2011. It will be a deluxe boxed board game and will include dungeon tiles, cards, dice, counters, models, the rulebook, etc. Basically everything you need to get playing. Over time we will release additional heroes, minions, denizens, bosses, mini-bosses, etc all designed to populate your dungeons and allow you to play your game in all sorts of crazy configurations. The exact method we'll be releasing additional models is still being worked out so we'll tell you more about that when we're closer. But we plan on giving you all more previews and insights over the coming months as we countdown to launch.
