I agree with Kirby about Ruby, though I would have to question why is it also necessary for women in fantasy to only ever wear nothing more than a handkerchief to support their ample bosoms?
I think you answered your own question: it's fantasy. So stop taking everything so seriously.
This makes me sad, it's like the exact opposite of what happened in high school, with all the hate and bullying being directed at thin people instead. No one likes being harassed for being fat and out of shape, but it's perfectly fine to be rude and insulting to people who actually exercise and work hard to stay in the shape they want to be? I realize in this case we're talking about a model and not a real person, but I've seen this attitude directed at real people enough on other sites and it really bothers me. Being thin or having big breasts may not be "average", but it isn't unnatural, either.
Who gives a gak what male teenagers desire? You don't think the desires of most women aren't as unrealistic? Please...
And apparently I'm starting to take this too seriously now, so...

Maybe from now on sculptors should just start sculpting all their women with huge guts, saddlebags for tits, and holding cheeseburgers instead of guns. Apparently that's way more politically correct and what people want.
To really push the whole realism thing she'd probably even be wearing the same top, except it'd say "HOTTIE" on it in big, glittery letters.
Honestly I can kinda see where they're coming from, but seriously the only real thing "wrong" with this model in that respect would be the skimpy top, which doesn't make much sense, and I admit it seems to be just to show off her flat tummy. But again, she's riding on the back of a dinosaur, I don't think this model needs to make sense.
It's fantasy, just have fun with it. And really, all this whining about women being sexualized and gak, how do you defend stuff like this then? Ha!
That's so sexist and sets unrealistic expectations for men to live up to.

I didn't ask a question.
I stated an aesthetic opinion, one based on proportions of human anatomy and form which IMHO is didstorted badly.
Size is not the issue but poor drawing.
Secondly whether you care to admit it or not, the constant portrayal of women like this is one of sexual objectification.
The designers of these minis obviously give a gak what teenagers desire or else why do they constantly pour out vulgar stereotypes?
There is no hate for thin people here.
If you had read my posts about this particular model you would have seen that I am liking it. The forms are not natural but the distortions are pleasing imho.
As for taking it seriously, it is true I don't always sleep very well, but this issue is not the cause.
And yes calling other people's opinions bulls' poo just because you disagree about anatomical proportions perhaps you are taking it too seriously.

Really dude? I'm not even going to respond to your argument after that.
Heh, and now we have more posts throwing a tantrum that people commented on the model's proportions than the actual posts commenting on the models's proportions.
I think they're okay. Though I think the problem with the model isn't so much the size of her tits, it's that her waist is just a little too thin. I think the model would look perfect if her belly was filled out just a little more. But I've seen much worse.
I liked the model a lot more when I first looked at it, though. I didn't notice just how flat her stomach really was, at first I just assumed the trenchcoat was messing with my vision.
I just get tired of people complaining about models being "too sexy", or "not sexy enough" in the case of GW daemonettes and wyches (people apparently want all-female wyches wearing two-piece thong bikinis and nothing else). That and reading comments about oversexualization and sexual objectification give me the idea that I'm not allowed to find women attractive without being sexist and oppressive and it pisses me off.
If you've got the body why not show it off? I mean it's not like models are forced to be models, people get into it because they want to. And this has nothing at all to do with miniatures anymore, I really need to stop.

In a way, it would be obscene to avoid the sexual admiration one sex has for another, especially as this IS all about fantasy. Men and women objectify each other, and you know what, theres a valid reason for this. Everything is so PC these days, that we're taking our natural urges and labelling them as unhealthy or wrong. We play these games to escape reality, not to mire ourselves deeper into it.
Yes I agree that the images of women are driven by an ideal, large breasts, atheletic bodies, sexually liberated and willing, etc etc.....but heres the flash, everything in our lives is subject to the same "unrealistic" ideals, what car you SHOULD drive, what house you SHOULD live in, the type of friends you SHOULD keep, the number of kids you SHOULD have, and the list goes on and on.
This is the hobby, women are objects of fantasy for men, as men are, in their own way, fantasies for women, accept it or withdraw from the scene ( This comment isn't aimed directly at Chibi Bodge-Battle), I say when you step to the gaming table or the painting table, leave PC at the door and enjoy your fantasy without feeling dirty or ashamed. If you're a male, enjoy the enhanced female form, hell, women do or there wouldn't be such an increase in breast implants.....would there!

What is ironic is the fact that "realistic" is even brought up. The miniature is of a woman riding a DINOSAUR! Realism kinda doesn't apply. Another comment someone made was how the sculptor(s) focused on the breasts to sell more models. That is highly unlikely in this case the sculptor more likely modeled this according to their own tastes. Why would I say that? Why would the sculptor pick a western motif for a dinosaur rider? Because the wild west is oh so popular right now? Doubt it the whole model is in a specific niche that would only apply to a few individuals.

edit: Ok I’ll add to this thread in a quasi-relevant manner... models of nude women exist... this is a clothed woman, riding a dinosaur... if people think this is sexualized, check the Wet Nurse from Kingdom Death (Not that there is anything wrong with that model). Id rather see men admiring the female form in model form this way, then half naked sci-fi chicks. Frankly she looks like she could kick my butt.... even without the dino, and that will forever be hotter for me then shapely pewter enhancements!⨪

Yeah, I can't make sense of it either. Anime Pin-up style vs. Western Pin-up style, but both are pretty "obvious."

Compared to McVey's old stuff this is the Mona Lisa. This spillage about bewbs is laughable at best, and trifeling at worst.
That is one of McVey's best sculpts yet, it's just too bad that there isn't a game to go with it.

Again very professional sculpt and that dino should be a joy to paint... will I get it? I dont think so, so far the only must have for me from Mcvey is the lass with the monster coming from her staff.
Mind Its a wonderfull sculpt but I have others collections to complete atm.
As for titties debate well all 28/30mm humans do have some anatomic shortcuts... heads, hands, feet, short legs or torso and big tits are the most common exagerations in this scale.

Yeah, thats fine, but I'm not saying people can't express their opinions, I'm suggesting that people accept that certain things are the way they are and move on. If a person doesn't like the model because it's too sexual, thats fine, say that, but don't expect others to necessarily agree or support that opinion. Generally people don't level an opinion and leave it there, it normally becomes an argument where one side tries to convince the other....thats the part I'm against.
But, thanks for not aiming the comment at me, I didn't want to be singled out or anything

I kind of wish she was riding a horse, as it has a really strong Firefly vibe for me.
I also kind of wish she would eat a little resin cheese burger, the waist kind of detracts from the model a bit, throwing off the proportions some.
What I kind of find funny about the whole sexualization thing is that it goes both ways. How many overly muscled barbarians wearing loin cloths are there out there, model wise? Christ, don't get me started on bloody Catachans... The issue would seem to be more that women's secondary sexual characteristics are less obviously beneficial to fighting. Hence porno plate for women vs OMG PILE OF STEEL for men. Realistic versions of both are pretty few and far between in miniatures. I got around it by buying expensive oop mini's that fit the aesthetic I prefer (proportioned, not overly muscled.) That's about all you can do other than swallow your distaste and buy oddly proportioned models if you want to play the game.
