Privateer is set to have a good year, with the rising popularity of their core game systems and a few board games that seem to be getting decent sales. They're unlikely to steal too much steam in 2011, IMO, but 2013 is a year to watch for them, with the MonPoc movie hitting theaters and (a guesstimate here) the Warmachine video game on consoles. Once we start seeing trailers with Skully front and center, I think Privateer will garner a lot of attention for the hobby.

Besides Privateer, there's a couple local games I'd like to see make it big (Iron Tyrants being the best example), and Fantasy Flight is of course looking to keep steaming ahead. The new Dust miniatures are pretty nice looking, and hopefully a sign that they've got their sculpting down pat.

I remain shocked no one has done modern NATO and 3rd world/middle eastern insurgents in plastic but probably the issue is still depth. Lots of people might but 1 or 2 boxes but that sort of warfare just does not need 200 figures on a side.

I think its might have something to do with the politics of the situation. Thinsg are still fresh on the middle eastern warzone front, and although you will get a number of poeple buying such a game, I think the mainstream, including the yonger audience who rely on parents to purchase their games, will shun this area of "fantasy".....kinda why you don't see many US or NATO style zombie miniatures, but a shed load of Nazi zombies, its easy to hate the Nazi's and think of their rotting corpses, while thinking about US military or NATO force corpses is a little bit too close to the bone for some people.

If Catalyst gets their act together and manage to release both major box sets in 2011, then Battletech could see a resurgence. I know I have been waiting for these.

I'm also keeping my eye out for Soda Pop's Super Dungeon Explore. I haven't bought anything from them, yet...but this concept has managed to pique my interest, and I'm eagerly awaiting a preview of their game design and rules.

I'm also wondering what exactly has happened to Rackham.

Other than that, I don't see myself spending too much money on TTWG. GW has improved their quality, but they have priced themselves out of my wallet.

Doesnt BT have some kind of curse that while it has brilliant rules and a cult following, it always seems that the company doesnt do much with it?

I want them to establish a customer base by expanding the range of miniatures available (and thereby increasing the size of the market), not just by stealing scraps from GW's kill. If their models can pull double duty in GW armies (eg. cervitaurs as WE wild riders) that's great, but if you're currently waiting for something new no amount of 3rd party rehashes of existing kits will establish any brand loyalty.

Unsupported concepts like Chaos (Khaos) Dwarfs? GW dropped them and now Mantic is going to capitalize on that (being optimistic here). Call it a test case.

If their first and only Dwarf range had been plastic Babylonian Dwarves (for use as KoW Dwarves or GW Chaos Dwarves), it would be closer to what I want from them. Selling Babylonian Dwarves for twice the price they sell Generic Dwarves means the test case is sabotaged before it even begins.
