Not sure about the venom kit in particular, but my guess is that the new wave next month is why it is in April.

Wait, so February is when the next DE wave is out? Maybe I missed that somewhere. I heard April a few threads ago...

Seriously, if you want flowers and joy when GW puts out a non-release notice, I'd suggest Warseer. We don't exactly CLEAN IT UP, FOLKS GW here. Instead we remember we're CUSTOMERS. And as such can demand things of the companies competing for our cash.

Let's hope it's Matt Ward.

If us Inquisitorial players have to lose our armies, the least we can get is payback via a Wardish nonsense Codex.

Demand all you want of a company, what you are going to get is an (effective) marketing strategy as this topic is already getting a viral distribution across every board and spinning up discussions.

A company owes us nothing. What they put out in terms of advertising is based on company self-interest in accordance with their marketing strategy.

Two pages of talk on just a simple announcement and the sun has not even come up on all of the US... your right, not effective at all. You do not have to like an advertisement for it to be effective. Simply continuing the conversation has the viral effect desired. Every time GW now trickles something out people will be all over that and January's release notice article will be ancient history and forgotten other than as a reference on an official date for new people that join the information threads late.

Is anyone really surprised about this kind of announcement considering what other recent news from GW has been like? Not that it makes it ok, of course....

All things considered, I am glad to get something official on the GK and that they won't be coming out any later.

Feb is Blood Angels.

If we can lay off calling each other names and the like, GW's "marketing strategies" ( use of term may not conform to accepted definition) or WTFedness thereof is pretty much a given now.

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.

Somewhere.

I already got 3000-4000 points of models, so fat chance they'll hit my wallet there, but I wanna hear the screams when I field Grey Knights with an up to date Codex. I win with the bastards as it is.

Then again, if some of the rumours of new units are true, I might end up picking those up...because I like lots and lots of Grey Knights.

I gave GW permission to spam my inbox weekly because I was hoping to win some minis from them when Isle of Blood came out. Since I didn't win anything, the net effect had been the equivalent of some guy nudging me in the ribs once a week and saying, "so, ya wanna buy somethin' from me?"

Actually, the net effect is knowing reliably what is coming out without having to go on forums and beg for often unreliable information from potentially hostile strangers. Personally, I like getting those emails from GW. Even if the information in them is often sparing, at least what's there is reliable and I'm seeing it pretty much as soon as it's out there.

Even as a new player I feel a little underwhelmed with that update. I was hoping for a little green next button... but that little button was nowhere to be seen :[

By that definition, Razorgor is their most effectively marketed model. Every time there is a "worst-of" list, people are talking about it. Surely this successful viral marketing has lead to massive sales of Razorgor, yes?
