Well, watching a Venerable Dreadnought drop pod behind the Eldar Pathfinders (with Maugan Ra joined!) then torching the whole group but for one man (not Ra) is pretty darn close! Granted, that one Pathfinder somehow survived two rounds of CC...

Nids all the way man.

SW are mainly for awesome pew pew action.

But I also like Orks a lot more. <3

Its funny I'm actually starting my first SM army(wolves) ever. I've been playing since 97'. I would go with Nids. Trygons are reason enough IMO.

Nids have a good dex, IF you didn't play nids beforehand
Nid players are generally pretty bitter about the new dex, but if you approach it as a new player, you won't have the same issues. Plus some of the best modelers i have seen do work on Big Niddly Beasts!

S'all fun and games until some no life troll master debates all over your space manz & ruins it for you

This is really ironic, I just converted my SM into SW and just built a 1000pt Nid list and so far:
Space Pups
Nids
Be seriously, go nids, completely different feel

So right. The complaints with nids is largely due to the loss of the "mindless swarm" mentality and the lost of customization, something the nids were pretty notable for (the 3rd edition mutant and mutable table options, as well as encouraged to make "unique breeds" with the crapload of upgrades in the 4th ed). Playstyle wise, if you take the good units, Nids are one of the more competitive books (I've never lost with my 5th ed nids).

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

When I'm editing alot, you know I have a gakload of homework to (not) do.

It seems 'Nids are what people are leaning towards, so I'll probably start them. Thanks for all the comments guys!

Im starting a 'Nid army at the moment so i'm biased, but it certainly makes a nice change from marines.
Good luck, and may the dice gods smile upon you.

Nids are really difficult to play and the community has not really figured out good ways to play them.

Nids. Space Marines have very wierd bulky strange armor and it makes them look kind of cartoony and ugly.

But that's my opinion.
