how did you find the t1 units of IG compared to the more powerful t1 units of the other races (space marines equivalent).

They hold up pretty well. They die quite easily, but once you upgrade them to have a flamer they kill things very quickly at close range. They suck at long range, suck at close combat but are excellent in the mid-tier which 95% of skirmishes in DoW2 seem to be.

But, you will generally have to make a choice, much like when you get Thaddeus etc, as to how your force will be put together. Pretty much everyone is useful, so it's just a personal choice (Although, some are more useful than others....Thaddeus can be a murderous killing machine if played properly)

Aye, I know. Looking through all their abilities, I decided early on to make a Shooting only force, and it hasn't lead me astray yet. Thadeus isn't useful enough for that type of thing, since if you equip him with a Bolter he dies to quick when he jumps in.

I've never feared Death or Dying. I've only feared never Trying.

It depends on what build you have. He can be a melee force of destruction, a buffer/healer/defender, or a ranged destroyer.

I went with an all melee build for everyone but Avitus, and he did damned good there.

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.
