Aquila could always have been added later.
Well..yeah it could be a marine in the 44th M. wearing pre-heresy armor...however you would think FW would release heresy specific armor....you know..with their pre-heresy releases...
You do know that the "pre-Heresy armor" releases were to go with the Badab War books, not an actual "pre-Heresy" setup right? Many of the forces involved(the Carcharadons, Astral Claws, and more) used older gear that had been refurbished for their use. There's plates within the book of the Star Phantoms' armory and it included the pre-Heresy weaponry.
If players wanted to display marines from the Great Scouring or what have you....there are plenty of Aquila torsos to be had in the range. I would have liked to seen something pre-heresy and boarding specific.
Well, it's definitely boarding specific. The "Boarding Squads" are from the Astral Claws, they count as having chainswords and combat shields along with void-proofed armor.

I wish more of the Badab War Chapters had gotten some shoulder pads and other love. I'm not a fan of do-it-your-self transfers that you can get from the BolterandChainswords download site.
Honestly. No Astral Claws ANYTHING except Huron? Hugely wasted opportunity. I hope that they come out with something soon.

I'm speaking from a sales perspective----as I would wager a guess that more people are purchasing FW Pre-Heresy armor to represent pre-heresy armies-----rather than Badab War armies. I base this on the popularity of heresy era Warhammer v. Badab War popularity.
What I'm saying is if I were running FW, I would say----make the arms/waist non-dependent of the torso----and make the torso pre-heresy. I doubt very much players of the Badab war would look at a non-Aquila chest piece and state "Nah, it won't fit in my Badab War Army". However, I'm quite sure there are pre-heresy collectors that look at an Aquila chest piece and state "Damn, wish that would have been a non-Aquila chest piece".
Not something I'm ready to expend a great deal of effort/posting to defend...just my gut...

Considering how many people try to shoehorn in tons of Dreadnoughts, Land Raider Crusaders, Razorbacks, etc into supposedly "Pre-Heresy" armies...I don't think they're really that concerned with the "fluff". They just want their army to look unique and to have some kind of perceived status elevation from the "rest" of the Marine players.

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

No offense, but how could you not be aware of this fact?
The Eldar 'Wasp' Assault Walkers in their first mention in the newsletter they were put up for preorder, and hell the Lynx in this very newsletter made mention of "the full technical details and background being in Imperial Armour Volume 11: The Doom of Mymeara".

Actually...yeah, it is complaining.
Orks got a buttload of attention for IA8, Dark Eldar at this point are waiting for things to be released via Games Workshop(the bomber+fighter both are coming from them, not Forge World).
But eh. Like I said: Forge World has become their own entity for all intents and purposes. They do their own thing, sometimes it ties in with GW's schedules sometimes it doesn't.

Yes, the tanks are super-heavies. The experimental rules under their pictures say so
As for the Scorpion v. Lynx--
The Lynx has it mounted in such a way that it will always need to turn to hit the target with the Pulsar.
The Scorpion, however, has the gun mounted in a turret so it has a 360 degree arc. It also has guns mounted under the prow.

Quite honestly, because I generally just look at Forgeworld's models, I don't get their newsletters nor do I read them on here. I haven't checked Forgeworld out up until recently, so I don't know their patterns and whatever. I didn't say they need to coincide with GWS.
I still stand by that wishlisting =/= complaining. If you want to take what I said as complaining, fine, I'm not here to tell you how to think, but I can say in all honesty that I wasn't complaining, I like Forgeworld's models and would just like to see new models for all kinds of Xenos from them, and I find that hard to believe that I'm the only one.

I've already got a bead on the Skaven, but would love that Chaos Dwarf, too.
That is a good idea - but even then, all it takes is a few... entrepreneurs to get in the front of the line, and there go all the stock of Show Exclusive models... I think?
RE: Aquilas on Pre-Heresy models.
Agree with AgeOfEgos on all counts.
But, I am pretty sure that the Aquila was also awarded to individual marines for exceptional service, bravery, promptness in bringing the Emperor his tea, etc. back in the Pre-Heresy days, so you could explain its appearance in your Pre-Heresy Non-Emperor's Children army that way too...

You're going to be waiting a long, long, long time then because Forge World has said that Huron, Tyberos, and the Red Scorpions Librarian were the only characters they are releasing for the Badab War books.
Everything else was purposely made to be as relatively generic as possible so they could be made using standard GW kits or the FW armor packs.
