It's great to see other people thinking what I did. For my sisters, I definitely want to add more emotional depth - there are enough killing machines in 40k, so why not a more social bunch of people? Sure, being able to fight is important, but what more than local riots does a pacified and well-guarded world have to fight?

And if I am not mistaken, you are secretly asking for a wallpaper - I'm working on it, promise. It'll take some time, though.
But rest assured, there will be a lot of emotional depth -both in future projects and in the wallpaper.

I'm also considering to buy an army, but I can't really get myself to, because they're both expensive and not really pretty yet (compared to the aesthetics of the Dark Eldar miniature range, that is)... Maybe if GW brongs out new plastic stuff - but only time can tell, I guess. Thanks alot. :-)

I wanted to have a new avatar that fits my nickname... so here it is.

Much more fitting avatar, I like it. And yeah, the current line of sisters models are terribad, and mostly metal (therefore $$$). When I get a full blown game room up and running, I will come looking for a commission as well.

I've been absent from this forum for quite some time - I just didn't feel like drawing 40k related art. But yesterday I finally managed to finish this picture:



Title: I Will Not Yield

Sister Aedis knelt after a serious blow. That rotten traitor's strength was beyond everything she had encountered so far. She recalled the oaths she had sworn and vows she had taken; "suffer not the heretic to live" being the one she had liked the best. And now, should it really become her fate to die from a heretic's hands? Emperor be praised for the gift of righteous fury and the purity of her hatred, she thought, clutching her crushed left arm. Defiantly, she stared at the disfigured foe standing in front of her, malevolence radiating from every inch of it. "I will not yield", she told it, "and you will perish before we will".
Ha, ha, ha, roared the red armour-clad giant. Little Sister, boomed a voice from beyond the mortal planes, We will swallow your soul and gift the Lord of Skulls with your pretty head - prepare to die!
"Damnation!", Sister Aedis yelled, and collected her last bit of strength.

This latest piece was done in a sort of marathon of 8 hours - I don't want to swear, but it was a real pain in the a... Yup.
Had a lot of fun colouring it, too, especially the blood.
My boyfriend helped me a lot with it, and I'm really thankful for the assistance he provided. He didn't paint or draw anything, but he told me when he didn't like something or thought details should be changed.
My favourite part is her kneeling on the ground - she's turned out exactly the way I wanted her to.

Just felt like drawing something 40k related again.

I hadn't seen this thread previously, but great artwork! Nice to see something other than just painted up minis to bring the 40K universe to life. Hopefully you'll feel like drawing some more again soon

Always cool to see some good 40k art. Surprised to see an update, I almost wrote it off as necroposting! I'm sure I'm not the only person still subbed from before.

Wow... That is superb. You got some serious skills there.

You've inspired me to start drawing again, though it's going to be tough. I've always tended to throw my pencils down in frustration and watch TV or something when I don't like what I'm producing. I'll just have to soldier on and do some every day to hopefully get better!

Awesome stuff! Though I wish you had painted a larger part of the scene. Y'know, a battle scene would be super-awesome.
Also, your Lelith is a fantastic one. A different take on what you usually get to see, but still one can make out the features that make her the Dark Queen she is. Do you plan to paint the model as well?
