I have fond memories of Warzone and Vor looked pretty good.

I really loved Epic in the early 90s and would love to play it again.

Star Wars minis is a great beer and pretzels game.

Can't remember 40k ever being a good war game, nice fluff and models but the rules have always ranged from unplayable to crummy to barely acceptable.

I enjoy 40k, but more for its fluff and epic scale than the actual rules system itself. That's why I tend to limit myself to a few games using battle missions to break out of the usual mold, or big Apocalypse games which really get the epic end of the world feel going on with 'em. We're trying kill team this coming week here at the local game club, so that should be fun. (5th Ed Battle Mission Rules)

That being said, Battlefleet GOthic is amazing. Beautiful models (except Tau, but even then it's not that the models are bad, I just hate the asthetic). Good rules, REASONABLY well balanced, and a heck of a lot of fun to play.

Hi all.
Favorite GW wargame, then its Epic Space Marine.(With Epic Armageddon as a close second.)

If we are talking non GW games then it becomes very difficult to pick one.
As there are so many great games ,I would have to classify by genre...

If the poll was ment to determine the most popular wargame based on the wide variety of games available. Then '' if you have ONLY ever played one wargame dont vote...' might have been a good idea to stop biased results from gamers with a very limited experiance of wargames in general.

But if its just to find out what most people play on Dakka , then 40k is going to be most popular,no suprise there...

Rogue trader? Wow, that's one of the 40k sets I would call unplayable.

It's fun if you like slamming models together and throwing big blocks of dice at your opponent. Whoever has the bigger block of dice wins.

Fantasy is much better because you get to slam even more models together and throw even more dice at your opponent.

How is that not fun?
