I don´t have a set amount I spend each month. I usually buy my armies to a playable level at once and then expand with mainly impulse buys.

But I guess I should begin working on budget and stick to "paint first buy later".

I'm allowed a bit per month for lunch and pocket money.
So, after something to eat, I get £100 or so. It'll usually go on gaming.

But, as I've spent around £600 since starting collecting at new-year, it's not too far off.
Recent monthly spending is a squad or 3, and paints.

All to get to play a total of one game :(

My hobby is self funding, I sell painted stuff to fund new stuff.

Think Im averaging around £300 - £400 a month this year.

Trying to keep that up until the wife works out im making that much money and robs it!

On average about £50 a month.

I might spend more one month & less another, or spend more in general if it's something I really like, or if Maelstrom are having a sale.

I don't game, so don't have armies, so I am in the enviable (or unenviable) position of being able to buy what I like, not what I need

Most of the time I don't spend much on the hobby, I have plenty of stuff to paint and play with (2 40k armies and 1 full fantasy army).

Recently I've been building up a 3000 point O&G army, so I've been budgeting around $100/month since New Years. Hopefully by next month or so I should have my entire army purchased.

Now as for painting...

When I purchase an army I do it in 1 go. I buy all of the kits, bits and any resin pieces I want for it. So in most cases I spend around 1k$ or more at a time. I usually do this at least 3 times a year. In some cases, like my last 2 armies it has been drastically higher than 1k because of the large amount of tank kits that were needed, but with all of that in mind I know how to shop for deals on items, but it does not make me fret to drop a c-note on something I want.

The wifely budgetary council has decided that we both get $75.00 'fun money' a month. We both spend something more like $125.00 a month on gaming

The Viletide: Daemons of Nurgle/Deathguard: 7400 pts
Disclples of the Dragon - Ad Mech - about 2000 pts
GSC - about 2000 Pts
Rhulic Mercs - um...many...
Circle Oroboros - 300 Pts or so
Menoth - 300+ pts

As long as it's both of you doing it, neither can hardly object. Keep grinning, and take it out of 'next month's budget.
Works for me, as The Missus does the same with her jewellery-making budget.

I set aside around $150 a month for models, paints, Codices, etc.

If something I want is released and it goes over that $150, then I subtract the overflow from the next month's budget.

Currently...probably about 150$ a month. I'll probably keep it about the same despite getting a significant pay raise in two weeks. Allows me large kits with some paints every month, or a number of smaller purchases. I have very little in the way of expenses currently so I'll get all the kits now before I need to buy a house/car/stuff for kids.

There's no real limit though, uf I feel like it, I tend to drop half a gran on whatever fancies I get.

I don't want to be human! I want to see gamma rays! I want to hear X-rays! And I want to - I want to smell dark matter! Do you see the absurdity of what I am? I can't even express these things properly because I have to conceptualize complex ideas in this stupid limiting spoken language! But I know I want to reach out with something other than these prehensile paws! And feel the wind of a supernova flowing over me! And I can know much more! I can experience so much more. For the last few months I haven't spent much on new models. It doesn't help that I have approx 20 armies in progress, and I have a parent that's ill.

Right now, somewhere around zero. Previously, anywhere from $200 to $500 a month or more if I find something interesting on eBay or order from Forgeworld.

I hate to admit this but its about $100 a month for models and about $300 a month for paintwork. I don't always do monthly paint commissions so I'll typically save up for a few months to do a large paint commission or turn eBay/Swapshop sales into cash that I use for commissioning my armies.

One of the biggest factors in determining if I want to start a new army/game is how much it will cost me to get the figures painted. I hate painting.

It depends on what's out, what I need, and what I'm working on.

In January, I bought IA 9 and 10 and 4 packs of the MK3 armor from Forge World (along with Huron and that Red Scorpion guy). In February, nothing. In March, the Grey Knights PA, Termies, and Codex (I'm kit bashing these models into my Black Templars and Crimson Fists). In April, maybe $10 in bits. This month, nothing. June: IA 5, 6, 7, and 8.

Edit: Does framing the poster from the IA 9 and 10 boxed set count? Because that was about $200 in February and looks kick ass in my game/hobby room.

I don't set aside money, but this summer I will have around 100 bucks a week I can spend at the FLGS, and I pretty much have everything planned out on what I am buying.

65$ every check. So that's 130$ a month. This is split between comics and models.
