Don't like the bubbly lack of details, claw feet, sci-fi mounted gun, and I think the French hat seems a bit out of place. I like the concept of the minigun, but it could stand to get a lot more detail. It seems bare even by WGF standards. I like the peaked cap on the officer, but I'm not sure about the hand-eye-emblem thingy.
By biggest problem is that the poses seem really static and unnatural. The limbs are plenty animated, but everyone appears to have iron rods for spines with perfectly squared hips and shoulders.
trenchocoats and solid casting don't go together well...
The helmets are okay, but stud-head over there simply will NOT work. The cheap-scale casting theyre doing.... not in seven hells that it will work. And then the design choice.... I really don't get it. The look is just plain... off. The only thing worth buying I'd say are the GI heads.

Pretty much agree with most of the major points. Its like they're trying to do everything in one set making a mishmashed, awkward mess

And the fact that they trademarked someone elses IP... sigh.... Well, at least I'm glad I dont need more shocktroops. Besides, what feedback system do they have? Beyond Liberty and Union League, which is just a spawning ground for requests to get something onto production, seems like this famous lonnie may just run things to the ground. I need to get back on this and find out the status of both companies. WAAAAAAAAAAAAIT a mainute... I just noticed.... WHY Is there a cigar in the hand of helmetface??? and closer inspection has also revealed that the mini-gun actually looks ridiculous, as the barrells will not spin...... ever... even theoretically.....

A comment system on their site. We all know how well those usually work out
In the future, helmets will have cigar openings!
I think a lot of the guns/the entire concept look rushed, ergo little thought was put into them
I'm surprised people who make beautiful game mods dont work for miniature companies (I know its different when it comes to production but modders can really do some great 3D work)

Now take your sweet sweet design, render it down in scale so a miniature holds it, and see how easy it is to mould and cast it cheap. The ubiquitous boltgun and las-rifle are fairly un-amazing designs, but they do the trick. Same with the grenade launcher. Their mission is to produce highest quality at lowest cost, so what you get is something that looks fair. I know people who hated the shocktroops but after handling the models came to love them and wanted to put an order of their own.
I just checked defiance games' stuff, and cant see what has you so offended, everything makes sense to me, and there isn't that much to a gun.

Look, maybe you like it. That's fine. As an engineering and art major, I hate it on multiple levels. As a wargamer, it is vastly inferior to the vast multitudes of other options. It's not just that it is simple, or boring, but it is actively designed badly. It doesn't look like it would actually function as a gun. It's aesthetics suck too. I was 110% in support of WGF when they first came out with the greatcoat troopers idea, but my faith has been totally shattered by their end results.

If I may clear this up, the gun that poda is talking about is found here. He's not talking about the Wargames Factory Greatcoat heavy weapons, he's talking about the concept drawings that have been posted by the studio which has been formed by WGF's original founders.

This may be just my opinion , but i see it as a really harsh flaw in the great coat's designs.
The coat... the way they flow is as if its made out of silk. They need to make it look sturdy and heavy and thick.

Helmets don't feel right. Can't find a single historical reference for this. Doesn't look good.
Skeletal feet doesn't seem to fit.
What's with the commander wearing a pirate hat? Out of place.
Poses are very static; lack of dynamic motion.
Laser cannon is blocky and mostly uninteresting to look at.
Top half of the gattling cannon is good, buttom half is looks unfinished/neglected.
This feels like a student project because it lacks a cohesive feel. Skeleton feet aren't mirrored anywhere else and feel tacked on. It also feels like the modelers jumped right into the project without doing enough concepting/thumbnailing beforehand; rushed in without enough planning.

I think anyone with a baccalaureate of arts in history would make a good consultant....
I also just saw some rough-sketch designs from the WGF originals (Now defiance games), and I have got to say, I am bloody well damn !%$!!@$ amazed and demand those things in production right now. The mortar is gorgeous.
I dont know who on that team is the design genius, but its clear that that is whats lacking from WGF right now.
I dont think WGF has even been releasing concept art before 3D renders either....

Warzone sells 80 troops for as low as $10 or $20 when they have sales.
It was made 16 years ago.
Its models are better, cheaper, and older.
WGF is awful in comparison.

Out of the box, I agree that the Wargames Factory models are sub-par. However, they're priced pretty well, and if you kitbash them with GW components, they actually come together to form some pretty good miniatures. I kind of like these new Heavy Weapon Team concepts for bits harvesting, but to be sure, I would never use them as is.
