I have to wait to XMAS for secret of mana. Its a bit pricey
Well when I walked in today Maniac MAnsion and Monster Party were sitting here. So as soon as I get my system Ill be playing one of those. I just hope the Maniac Mansion is the version with the nuclear hamster. We shall see

Metroid games (except on the Wii, seriously WTF went wrong with those?) are just awesome anyways. I think they kindda have to be on a list lol.
Just waiting on my system to get here.......GAH! Tomorrow hopefully, otherwise itll be friggin Tuesday at the earliest. But yea, its a FC TWIN slot system or something along those lines. Plays both NES and SNES games. Pretty snazzy

But DOOM is on my list. I used to play the hell out of that game when I was a kid. Funny enough, when the local "rich kid" got a PC that could play DOOM 3d online against others, he sucked HARD at it. I asked one day if I could give it a go, and I actually did pretty good. He was so pissed, he never let me touch his computer again. A fond childhood memory

Sounds about right. On the day before a three day weekend, everyone sort of slacks off big time. Friday's work probably got shelved to the Saturday employees who had to work. They probably got pissed and shelved the same work for the people on Tuesday.

Blades of Steel, and Kirby Adventures in Dreamland. Metal Marines was another fun game and I believe that there's actually a mario collection out for the SNES that has 1,2,3 and the Lost Episodes.
Fire Power 2,000 was another favorite of mine.

Kirbys adventure in dreamland was a fantastic game. Infact it was so fantastic, that when Kirby on the Wii came out, I was very disappointed in how the game turned out

Kirbys Epic yarn....not so fantastic. Whats with Nintendo putting the word Epic in titles lately and they end up not being so epic? Was I the only one disappointed with Epic Mickey?
Automatically Appended Next Post: Oh yea got my console today! Now Im just waiting for the other 12ish games to get here. Ive got a couple to play currently, but only 2 are games I REALLY wanted. Sadly the Super Mario World game Ive had for over a decade has pooped out. I bought a security tool so I can clean/replace batteries so when I get that Ill see if I can fix the Mario game. Its too good to just throw away, and Im too cheap to try and buy another one
Monster party FTW!

Yeah i don't think it is too hard to fix the battery in them. I am glad you got your system. I am still playing Super Metroid and Secret of Mana right now. Thanks for the nostalgia motivation.

Well thank the likes of Angry Videogame Nerd. I like watching his channel every now and then and he did some reviews on a couple games I LOVED as a child. So it hit me like a ton of bricks. Besides Ive been rather bored of new games lately anyways.
I think Ill ask for secret of mana or Chrono Trigger for xmas, because those are PRICEY games

If they are too expensive, you can pick up Chrono Trigger on the PS1. I will keep an eye out at my local flea market this summer. If I find any of them (PS1 or SNES) cheap, I will let you know. I got Final Fantasy VII for the PS1 (original not greatest hits) for $10.00. The inside of the case had a still new smell, so my only guess is someone must have recently removed the plastic...

Well many thanks I appreciate that one Lord Scythican.
OK so Ive noticed something odd so far with this FC twin I bought. I own an instore demo SNES, and part of the reason I bought the twin was so I wouldnt wear out my demo system. So some of the SNES games I have, wont play on the FC twin....but when I stick them in my SNES they play. Any ideas there? I have my twin hooked up to my LCD tv but I dont see why that would matter at all. I guess I could hook the twin up real fast to an analog tv and see whats up, but its just a blank screen. Hopfully I figure it out, I wrote the company to see if this is the sign of a defect. I certainly hope not, as I waited a while to get this damn thing

I think the FC twins are hit or miss. I know a few guys who had some luck with them and a few who didn't. One game shop I used to go to bought like 10 of them to sell. Have of them didn't work.

Yea Ive read reviews on them and they are definitely hit and miss. 1 controller wont work or 1 game bay works while the other doesnt I wrote the guy I bought it from to see about getting an exchange. Its annoying though, because Ill have to ship it back, then wait for my new one to get here, and in the mean time Ill have a boat load of games sitting here I cant play. Maybe Ill find an NES at a garage sale or something

Welp, Im returning the FC TWIN, if you were to ask me of my opinions of them, dont waste your time. I said screw it and pulled out my store demo SNES and have been merrily playing Castlevania 4 on it since. Also good news, my father inlaw picked me up 2 NES consoles for 5 bucks. They dont have controllers but figure for 5 bucks, Ill get one of them working anyways Hurray for me!
Automatically Appended Next Post: Alrighty update I guess. I got ahold of the FC twin people, and they dont refurbish consoles. SO they said, they are sending me a brand new one, and before they do they are testing the thing out to make sure it actually works. Pretty good customer service if you ask me. Which means, if I can figure out what the hell went wrong on my current one, I could sell/give away the system. OR if not, then Im thinking of taking it apart and doing a cool NES mod on the thing. Something cool, possibly turn an NES cartridge into a NES system ala this
Not sure yet really, depends on what happens, but making something cool would be awesome sauce.

Sheesh this thread feels like it turned into the KC old school console corner. I got 2 NES consoles from a yard sale the other day for 5 bucks. 1 looks a bit dirty but flashes when turned on. The other, looks like I tossed it out a window from the 2nd story, and also flashes when turned on. This is a sign of the 72 pin connector pooping out. SO I tore apart busted up NES to investigate. It was filthy, and you can tell was played by someone that smoked like a chimney, it took a good 15 Qtips and hot soapy water to clean it up.
Once I got down to it, I ripped out the pin connector and cleaned it a bit, and rebent the pins back up to see if it really was the connector, or if the system had other issues. Stuck it all back together and presto change-O paperboy turned on. I was a bit relieved because these are JUST the consoles, so no hook ups or nothing. So I have a stash of power packs just sitting around and used some random RV cables. It works though Looks like dis BigMek is handy with more then just a burna
