Yes, you are correct here. In seize ground you place objectives and then pick DZ. In Capture and Control you pick DZ and then place.

Regardless, first player places objectives first. That's my point. You lost that roll and then convinced your opponent to roll for "first turn", which was already decided. I'm surprised your opponent fell for that. At least you were kind enought to give it back.

Learning the rules...very valuable! It *was* seize ground, as my batrep noted in the mission description. The first player doesn't place objectives - all objectives are placed before you roll to see who gets to choose deployment zone or go first.

Nice batrep Dash - welcome back! I noticed a lot of the old-style raiders in the pics - was this common with all the DE armies in the tourney?

No, I think the rest of the DE players there were dirty bandwagon jumpers.

I had an immense chubby for DE when at LA Games Day a few years ago. I bellied up to a cool lookin' table that was all one large chaos symbol and littered with DE models.

I picked up the codex, and immediately was enthused with the fast speed of the army, and wyche weapons, Archons, etc. And then I got a look at the models and would have puked up my stomach contents, but this was before lunch. It probably would have gone unnoticed given all the GW employees wearing tau "vomit brown" shirts. Only one helion model wasn't broke off its stand (and this is only an hour into the event).

Once the models got *good* looking, last November, I was on board. Okay, so I'm a Johnny-come-lately. Sue me.

My attorney will be in touch shortly. You can save yourself some legal fees by just sending me all your DE now.

I open fire! My trueborn in the middle were planning on shooting at the ravager, but since I'm out of range because of the Nightshields

My warrior blaster on the left can't shoot at the ravager either because of the nightshields

This is why I'm a big fan of nightshields. Hell, even just denying the occasional rapid fire barrage is worthwhile.
