GW sues Privateer Press, Fantasy Flight Games, Hasslefree Miniatures, Reaper Miniatures, and Sodapop Miniatures for infringing on their copyright of "35mm scale wargaming figures for futuristic space combat."
Maybe wargear cards that would need purchasing seperately? £8 per powerfist? £5 per power sword, certainly nerf those OP Banshees....
Turning codicies into an exclusively online resource along with the FAQs that require a monthly subscription to access.
Ow I could actually see them doing that.....(in a few years)
Agreed, I was actually serious about that one while the one I made earlier about peeing in cereal wasn't. WOTC is doing something like that already with their D&D line but you still have access to the physical copy in most cases (although I believe I read that some of this years planned releases were turned into digital only offerings). As small, powerful devices like tablets and even some cellphones get more ubiquitous, the cheaper distribution method of just sending electrons down the internet directly to the consumer instead of paying middlemen like printers/shippers/retailers becomes more appealing to some companies.
1) Gamesday being by invitation only and only if you can prove that all your purchases come from their stores.
2) Special paint scanners at competitions to make sure that only GW paints were used to paint minis.
3) Models (regardless of weapons) that are more than 5 years old are banned. Only new models allowed.
4) Lie detector instore to check if you have been posting complaints about GW online. If you have you will be shot. But will still be obliged to buy models from their store afterwards.
5) Quietly ejected from Gamesday for voicing your opinions about the high prices.

The last one I believe will happen.
Number 3 is actually very easy to implement unfortunately. They simply need to publish a line in their tourney packet that says only current in-print models or conversions based on them are allowed... that's it.
They will add crack dust to the new resin fine cast mini's, meaning you get more and more addicted with every purchase you make.....making more and more money until eventually they will become some sort of Shadowrun conglomerate, intent on ruling the world with thier army of crack addled hobbyists......
Players going to a GW store will be required to produce a receipt for all of their models, proving they did not get them from eBay or an online discounter.

Scary thought there. Kind of 'Big Brother' for geeks.
Note: NOT the terrible and happily defunct show on C4, rather the Orwellian freaky future kind.....

Aside from next weeks price increase, I expect them to charge admission to go into the hollowed halls of the Battle Bunkers, cover charges and Doormen at the GW shops, and a audit for players who come in and actually buy things in there.
In the marketing front, I heard it on source that GW is moving production material from Resin... to gold.
Rules will still be sketchy, but there will be one of the new FAQ's that addresses real life combat modifiers, and armor saves. Your models will be replaced by contractors from Blackwater.
I also predict that The Second Coming will show us that it there really is an Emperor who the price increase was demanded from.
PAY THE TITHES, Your soul demands it!
At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

The current array of bad news in regards to GW seem to be affecting nearly all aspects of the GW hobby (embargo, price, WD etc).
I predict GW's next “wacky” decision would be gradually phasing out production on more older armies such as Chaos Space Marines and Eldar. I can see GW’s justification as damage control in the form of pushing more SM releases.

Your hate has made you powerful. Now take your Privateer Press tape measure and strike me down with all your hatred and your journey to the dark side will be complete!!!

Mat Ward's favourite dream: Every single Xenos race becoming an Ultramarine.
And every single Chapter and Legion. And Hive Fleet.

Go play solitaire....
Just leave GW alone!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry it took me so long to post on this, I spent most of the day laughin that he actually called plastic toys a "luxury commodity". Son, a luxury commodity is gold or pearls or hell, even high-grade coffee, it is NOT plastic toy soldiers.
This:
Is not the same as this:
Please slap yourself repeatedly until the GW koolade you've been drinking wears off.
That is all.
Six mistakes mankind keeps making century after century: Believing that personal gain is made by crushing others; Worrying about things that cannot be changed or corrected; Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it; Refusing to set aside trivial preferences; Neglecting development and refinement of the mind; Attempting to compel others to believe and live as we do
A GW licence will be required to play. When you make a purchase you will be obliged to to send the correct addresses of gaming locations at which they will be used. GW will have Detector Vans trolling around just to make sure. (Black Shirts just became very sinister)
Fanboys will write to WD's, "Points of View" letters page (Renamed LoS as GW never steal other bod's concepts): "Dear Terry, The game I played last night was way cool dude. The licence fee is worth every penny!! I would gladly pay £5,000 for the licence. Yours sincerely, Marcel Bootlick"

The next generation of figures will only be available from GW's website as printable PDFs, which, to be legal, must be printed on fine quality citadel papers, also available from the website.
You might laugh but what better way to help GW customers with the price than to issue GW store cards, this way you can buy the miniatures you cant afford and pay the money back at a measly 47% interest.
I can actually see this happen as it's so common with large retailers in the UK
