Either way, my point remains the same.

If you are expecting most things out of Hollywood to have a high degree of accuracy, then you're probably disappointed on a regular basis.
The movie is entertaining, despite some glaring oddities (everyone speaking with a British accent except for the commander of the battle, the awkward sex scene, the strange back and forth with the kid Sasha).

Regardless of your personal opinion of the movie, most viewers will find the opening entrance scene to Stalingrad to be a powerful one. The imagery is graphic, and the low value of a human life that is depicted in the scene, is shocking to most Westerners.

"Wasn't that good" isn't the same as "wasn't entertaining".

And yes, I am disappointed on a regular basis by Hollywood--or I would be if I went into movies expecting 'accuracy' in everything except what is branded as "True Stories".

but the rules are pretty generic when it comes to weapons. and the melta has pretty much the right effect, and theres the added bonus of not needing to bend or break any rules.

Tell that to the people who were whining about things 'counting as melta guns'.

But yes. The idea behind here is that melta guns are SUPPOSED to be rare and hard to find items. Your average Guard squad just won't have enough to go around, as those they do have will likely be given to specialists. This thing is designed to give basica infantry a fighting chance against tanks.
