I think they did but they probably toned it down for it being too graphically intensive for current technology.
The in-game rivet city is smaller and doesn't have the awesome skybridge to a skyscraper and its broken in two (which is a cool addition)

The third one down is currently my desktop picture and has been for like a year. John Blanche is just FRIKKING AWESOME. That ship just fits the 40k feel and universe perfectly, better than any other picture of a 40k space ship I have seen.
