Is there not a post you make without insulting someone on Dakka?

Some people make their own as much for the creativity and challenge as the inhibitive cost of the model.
Kudos to them for having a crack at it.

£740?
did someone add an extra nought on by mistake?
It says it is only 25cm tall in standing mode/40cm long in lowered, so it doesn't seem as big as I thought given the 1:8 scale.

It's a simple statement of fact. Most scratch built titans (Warhound or otherwise) are somewhere between "very" and "incredibly" badly done. If that insults someone, then maybe they need to be insulted.

Want a titan? Buy one or be good at making it.

How is a thread about a sci fi fighting vehicle type piece of kit is spamming on Dakka?
It seems like news about a forthcoming release.

The design is fine imho that is just down to personal preference.
Not sure how the cost can be justified though.

Worglock
Way to damn other peoples' creativity.
It is insulting and as such against rule #1

Unless you have some constructive criticisms to assist people in improving their "incredibly" badly done models, you should keep your insulting thoughts to yourself.
You also need to learn to differentiate between "a simple statement of fact" and what is actually the product of your own subjective prejudice.

Slapping cereal boxes, paper towel rolls and an occasional piece of dowel rod together with masking tape is not, has not and never will be "creative". It's an insult to the people that have spent the money time and effort on the actual models.

There is currently a thread discussing scratchbuilt models and whether you would play against them or not.
Suggest you take your complaint there.

In any event, the "model" in question costs as much as it does because of the following factors:
* It's pre-painted.
* It's a limited edition.
* 15" long resin model designed to be moved around
* According to the website, all of the arms, joints, and weapons are movable.

In other words, it's not so much a "model" as an incredibly expensive resin toy.

Has anyone seen the movie? I saw a trailer of it once and it looked pretty epic!
I really wish I had this model...

Still not convinced about the claim of it being 1:8 scale

15" long = 10'

this pic says 5.76 meters which is about 19 feet if my maths is correct, and assuming the drawing gives accurate measurements

I don't think that there is a forge world kit over 500 pounds (correct me if I am wrong). IMO this kit is just plain old ugly, again IMO.

Yep, double checking the website, the reference to 1:8 scale is a mistake. What the official website says is that what's being sold is based on the original 1:8 scale prop model, but isn't actually 1:8 scale.

Thanks kroot hawk, man those are way over priced. Don't know whether i could justify spending that much on all of those kits including the gun head one.

That looks like a boss from Armored Core. Oh how I love me some Mecha. But, the product to cost ratio is too high. I still love the design though.

Why do the barrels on the BALKAN cannon converge? It just looks... odd.

BTW, Chibi Bodge-Battle, I think you mean 5,76 m equals about 19 ft.
