I'd be surprised if they actually defeated the necrons. It is how the necrons were discovered by the Imperium after all if I remember correctly.

I'd have been astonished if the Sisters had won, given the Necron victory at Sanctuary 101 is almost the first paragraph of the Necron Codex.

I wish they named it Sanctuary 404, since the attacker's were never found.

You of coures realize that the 3rd ed Witchhunters codex is the *only* time that Sisters were ever associated with the Inquisition? They are the armed wing of the Ecclesiarchy, the third ed codex stuffed them in with Ordo Hereticus because otherwise there would be nothing to put into that book. C:GK is the Inquisition book, it's only missing Deathwatch.

How can you call C:GK an Inquisition book? There is a footnote in it about Inquisitorial forces, but nothing more. There is no way to even run a non-GK Inquisition force. The Inquisition does far more than fight daemons.

And why aren't the Sister get their own codex, like GK but must be satisfied with 2 issues of White Dwarf?

As far as I've heard (only word of mouth, mind you), it's quite simply that there's nobody at GW really taking an interest in them. Rick and Andy left GW some time ago, and they were the only enthusiasts about this army.

Any updates for them would now be made solely because of "market interest", meaning it'd lack the love. As proven by the new Codex not even getting its own cover art on the magazine it was released in. :(

Which probably explains the lack of Repressors - not a malevolent refusal to give us official rules for our (now) only unique vehicle, more a case of the authors simply forgetting that it exists because they're disinterested?

Which of course reduces GW's profits no doubt.

And what they don't do is field armies. Except armies of Grey Knights or Deathwatch.

Deathwatch isn't really formed into an army unit so much as an elite strike force.

Right now, we don't know until the second part comes out.

Full codex is 'eventually'.

We can only pray. Either way, I wouldn't honestly expect it for at least another year, likely more.

As it seems (or am I interpreting this wrong?), the talk about Sister plastics coming for sure was also somewhat exaggerated.

Good thing - I heard from someone the same thing happened to Blood Angels, they get few updates and then a full codex ( aldo SoB codex is going for 2012 - 2013 ).
Bad thing - this update has been done by Matt Ward, so expect a broken Sisters.

Except for apparently the seventh edition Chaos Daemons codex in Fantasy, none of Ward's codices are "broken," certainly none are as overall good as the Space Wolves or Imperial Guard.

Shame about how Sisters seem to be getting the shaft though, I thought of trying a Sisters army. I guess I can use the old codex though.

I feel bad for all the SoB players... but I've only ever seen one SoB army on a table... that's since '95 at three different FLGS's.

And with 6th Edition, of course. That was their promise, after all. To update every army before 6th would come around.

"SoB up to date ... check" - I only wonder if this is it for another ten years, of if we'll really get a proper book sometime after 6E. Time will tell.

Well, next year would be our 15th Anniversary (and 15 years since the last proper Codex: Sisters of Battle), so we can pin our hopes on that very, very slim chance. Or a slightly more realistic 2-3 years before we're revisited.

Following the pattern used by Fantasy 8th edition, we'll see a single army released early on in 2012 (probably Tau). There won't be anything further for 40K until 6th edition hits in Summer, followed by the boxed set in September, and ending with the next Marine codex in October or November (first codex is always a marine codex). GW never releases anything new in December, so that will round out the year.
